Wedding Dress Rejects: Let's Play!

No one took a picture of me in the first 2 dresses.

This was the first one I tried on. I looked like a sparkly stuffed sausage and SO glad I didn't get it since I was SUPER bloated on the wedding day

This is the 2nd dress that I was ready to buy. I only tried on the 3rd dress to make sure because 3 is my lucky number and I really wanted to make sure. Once I put on the 3rd dress we realized the 2nd dress while looked great on me looked like a dress I'd wear to work with a cute sweater lol

This dress was the one basically as soon as I put it on!

View Quoted Comment Thank you- they’re honestly all incredible and my iPhone photos don’t do them justice! The one I picked has some similarities to #1 but suited my figure better. The designer is INCREDIBLE for the more boho kind of girl! I was dreading trying on a stack of fluffy white dresses until someone pointed me in that direction. I tried on one white ballgown to make my mom happy, and when I came out in it even she laughed at me. I looked ridiculous!

So fun! I only have pics of 2 other dresses and the one I bought! I knew I wanted a flowing skirt, a fitted top, straps, and something simple but beautiful. The hardest part for me was picturing how they'd look when they fit, because nothing did at the store!

Dress #1- I actually purchased this dress, went home, woke up crying the next day and went back to cancel the order. This is the dress everyone cried at when I walked out. The day I bought it, I showed 2 friends and didn't get the reaction I was hoping for like my mom and FMIL gave. Actually, they were very underwhelmed, and later told me they thought it was ugly. That hurt my feelings a lot because I thought it was beautiful but not the one.

Dress 1

Dress #2 I kept going back to, I put it on twice, and it was arguably my favorite from the first round of try-ons. I loved the shape on my body, the only two things that kept me away were that it didn't come in white, which I wanted and it was strapless which I did not want. It was so light and flowy and the shape was perfect but it was too blush for me.

Dress 2

The one! After I bought dress #1 and immediately had regret, I went back to the store and tried on this one! I saw it online on the website in the car ride to the store (I wasn't driving!) and immediately asked to try it on. My mom didn't cry at this one, but the top was perfect. The skirt wasn't quite the shape I wanted and I ended up buying a big tulle overskirt to wear for the ceremony. I plan to take it off for the reception to dance and party! Best of both worlds!

I'm glad you went back! The one you picked is amazing on you! I would have been so crushed if I showed people pics of my dress and they were underwhelmed. Every time I second guessed my dress I found someone I hadn't showed it to and they were always like omg awww that dress is so cute and so you so it always reassured me lol

Thank you! Yes, I was so let down! I thought I was an easy-going bride when it came to dresses. Honestly, they all had their beautiful qualities and I would have been happy in any of them. I was surprised when it became a bigger deal than I anticipated, lol!

Wow, the dress you chose was PERFECT for you! It's stunning!

So I went to 2 different stores the first being David's Bridal (I personally had a horrible appointment and won't post those pics as they just weren't any good) but the Second was Caela Scott's Bridal. I tried on so many dresses and have all the pics except maybe 2 dresses...... now going thru them, I'm second guessing hahaha......

This one was a no but I did love it, it just wasn't THE dressSide view

I loved loved loved this one......But the straps kept coming unsnapped around my arms and I would've had to do my own altering for it to work......

Second choice and very close runner up......Only thing that made me say no is it wasn't tight fitting thru my sides and there was alot of extra and it was a discontinued and alters would've pulled the dress and made it look horrible

Here are my rejections, 2nd choice, MY DRESS, and my veil inspo! It was a REALLY tough choice for me between my 2nd choice and the one I ended up choosing. Overall, I felt the one I chose went more with my country rustic theme with the all over lace detail.

This is so fun!! I had to do some major digging and couldn't find pictures of the total rejects, but I did find my 3 "runner ups":

Wedding Dress Rejects: Runner Up!

This was the first dress I tried on that I was obsessed with and felt like "the one" (as I'm sure you can tell by the smile on my face ). I didn't love the back and wasn't sure how much I wanted to wear a purple dress, so I started looking at other Hayley Paige dresses which led me to my wedding dress!

Really thought I loved this one. Looking at pictures, I can not understand why. ( I was 30 pounds heavier)

I learned I loved ball gowns with this dress. But hated this dress was so hot and heavy

I tried on SO many dresses with illusion necklines and thought I would love them, but something just didn't translate well on me - especially in pictures!
