Wedding Dress Rejects: Let's Play!

I went to my first bridal appointment just to see what styles looked like on me. And here are some of the rejects.

1) dress I went in to try on initially.
2) liked that I looked like I had a figure!
3) loved but too much on the bottom
4) loved... amazingly comfy, loved the silhouette but didn't know about it for a wedding dress.

I think I found "the one" online and it's a mix of 3 and 4

I didn't keep photos of all the dresses I tired on (I think I tried on about 20), but there was one I almost bought, the Wtoo Pippin dress (first photo). It hugged my curves beautifully and I loved the unconventional lace, but it was so SO uncomfortable. I ended up purchasing the Watters Stassia gown, which I found on Pinterest and fell in love with before I got to try it on. It was SO comfortable, pretty unconventional (which is what I was going for) and all lace with a beautiful open back (last three photos).

Dress 1 was from my first shopping experience. It was the style I thought I wanted and putting it on confirmed it for sure, but it wasn’t quiitteee perfect. Though, if I hadn’t had made it to my last shop, it may have ended up being my compromise gown 😱.

The rest of the pics are all from my last store— my mom has come in to shop, I made a bunch of appointments, they were all a tragic flop, so, we went into the last place as a last ditch effort and had a DREAM appointment— I knew exactly what I was looking for style-wise and basically loved everything she brought out for me, though... not all right for my day.

the second is one of the first at that shop. So pretty...for a fairytale wedding, maybe in a ballroom , but that was NOT my wedding! Hah.

the third was my runner up and I ALMOST thought it was the one and when I look back now it’s like, what was I thinking?! I mean it’s beautiful but I was torn between it and mine in the moment (til I saw myself walking in it)! I was/am obsessed with the lace underlay; but aside from that , I’m like— no way, this is NOT my dress.

the fourth dress is what came in after I ordered my dress...so it’s “my” dress, BUT, it came in in the wrong color !! It was beautiful! The moscato bottom really allowed the ivory details on the bodice to stand out. I was almost swayed to just roll with it, but, I didn’t feel like a bride. I needed the ivory I had been dreaming of since placing the order . So I had to send it back. Besides, the moscato bottom wouldn’t really have gone so well with my SHOES (priorities!!)

I tried on a bunch! Had the same issue with David's Bridal, couldn't find one I loved and was meh to all of them. I went to a gallery in Orlando and found my one! I have been in love with Morilee and her Julietta collection for a few years and had to try them on and of course found my one in the collection! Not posting it though, fiance is on the site too lol Here are a few rejects! The last one was a close second!

I rejected everyone's suggestion to go try on new gowns and buy a dress. I picked my Grandma's when I was a very little girl (like 3 or 4) and fell in love with it even more after my cousin found it in her attic after buying her parent's house and sent it to me. And even more when I tried it on the first time - though I did get stuck in it cause my hands are too big for the original sleeve openings.

I only tried two dresses.
I was obsessed with a Beta dress and had one made on dhgate. They did a pretty good job recreating it but I decided I wanted something with a more unique silhouette. I bought another on BHLDN and that was that. So guilty for buying my dress 11 months early and sneaking to try it on any chance I got. It was perfect for what I wanted.

These arent even close to all tbe dresses I tried on ... lol but a few of the ones I have ... the last is what I bought .. sadly this photo doesnt do it justice and makes me sad to see. I promise it is beautiful and sparkly

The first I loved the train but ended up not liking the sleeves . The second was a two piece dress... wish it came around the front more and didnt like the sheath dress when the skirt was removed .. the third I loved ... but it was too common i think .. and my last...and my pick. It was very pretty . Had the open back I wanted and lots of bling. It was different. I tried on a lot that were dresses everyone had... and I wanted something different. I wish I took a good photo in any of these. My sister wanted just the dress so I wasnt important lol . But really I wish you could see how good it looks . It doesnt look really good here =/

The dress you wore is perfect for you! When I saw the photos before your wedding pic I thought "I hope she gets THAT one." Then bam, there's your wedding pic. It actually looks like a formal gown you could probably wear out again? To the theater, company Christmas party, anniversary dinner.
