Wedding Dress Rejects: Let's Play!

I have been having so much fun checking this forum. I LOVE seeing all these body types in REAL dresses. It's funny to see something that didn't work on you TOTALLY work for someone else. It's also hilarious how uncomfortable we each look in dresses that aren't working and then how obvious it is when you've fun the *right* one.

So here are a few of mine.

No no no, not me

Wanted to love! Had stuff like a defined waist, balanced shoulders, unique details. Super comfy, but not the one.

Stream of consciousness went: "Oh my god, I AM HOT. Can't stop looking at myself. Wait, grandmothers. Cleavage. Price" I looked at this photo for a week and came to the decision, it felt too simple for our tiny venue and would be lost in photos and just like that I was ready to let it go. WHAT A WHIRLWIND OF EMOTION.

BHLDN Perdita - Ta-da. Comfortable, balanced, architectural. Under budget. DONE.

I highly recommend them, even if you’ve already found your dress. It wouldn’t hurt to try because consultations are free. Especially if you’re looking at a higher end designer, and looking to make lots of alterations.

The Pronovias I looked at were all $2400+, not including the $$$ alterations they were claiming. I paid under $2k for my custom, even after alterations. It is a very long process though, so if you don’t have a minimum of 7 months, I don’t suggest going with them.

If money isn’t an issue, I wouldn’t risk it. However, if you’re budgeting, it wouldn’t hurt to look.

These were my nos.... the first was the one I thought for sure would be the one.... buuuuuut..... I glammed it up a bit!

This one was very very close to being a yes. It just didn’t feel 100% right so my consultant suggested that I get out of it and try on the last dress they picked for me just for fun and then we could go back to it if I wanted to. The last dress ended up being my yes dress.

I’m just enjoying the beautiful dresses!! My sister in love has the pix of all the dresses that didn’t make the cut. Lol. So I’m unable to share. However your final decision is absolutely gorgeous! Great pic and congratulations!

I've been meaning to post in here forever and keep forgetting. Finally remembering to! These are all rejects - I'm not posting the dress I picked since FH comes on the boards too.

The Runner Up

This is the dress I probably would have gotten if I hadn't found my dress. In the end it just didn't feel bridal enough for me.

Another strong contender

Really liked the lace pattern of this dress but I didn't like the shape/way it fit.

Pretty, but just didn't give me the feels.

This is the dress I went to the shop where I got my dress from specifically to try on. It was pretty and very soft but also waaaay over budget. But it brought me to my dress so for that I'm glad.

There were many more but these were ones I was hoping would look good but didn’t

the white and and Black was a favorite but seamstress isn’t working because of shoulder injury

the two blues would not make dress in my size: wanted to alter but they were so large it would have changed the dress drastically and the white with stones (would have been blue) is my third place backup but costs like 10 times over what I wanted to spend and I’m not fond of the seamstress AT ALL so is a worst case scenario

my backup choice is the last white with no other color... I don’t hate it but it is my bridesmaids dress so not my ideal choice

This is so fun! I was so convinced I wasn’t going to find anything!! Went to three places, struck gold at the third place! The last photo is my yes dress! Too plain...Not enough skirt volume...Not enough sparkle...

THE ONE!!

FrontWith the veil...Not wanting to take it off...

I thought this was the one for about a week until I had My second appointment and found the one 100% no doubt. I ended up not choosing this one because my original favorite ended up being on sale and was so much more of a December wedding dress. While this one is pretty I wanted more apparent lace floral details.

I started my dress shopping with no style in mind. But as the fitting went on I leaned more towards A-line or Ball Gown but not too poofy. Also I purchased a dress (dress #1) because I thought I loved but it wasn’t my style actually. Dress #1 is pretty and all but it doesn’t reflect my personality as I wanted something simpler and less busy. So I returned it and exchange for THE ONE. I’m going to post 3 dresses that I rejected, the 4th one is Dress #1 that I returned. Then I’ll put THE ONE at the very end. There will be 2 pictures ( front and back) of my dress at the very end.
