Yes you can! Mine was that, I bought it from a consignment store (it was originally over $2000). David’s bridal also has plenty of dress below $1000 (as low as $500). Is there a certain style you’re looking for?

For sure! David’s bridal has a great selection, or You might be able to get a deal from a smaller bridal shop during an end of season or off the rack sale. I know some people who have had luck buying second hand, but David’s is probably the easiest. Keep in mind the cost of alterations when you’re shopping though! If you find a dress that’s pushing that price limit and looks like it’ll need a lot of work (hemming, elaborate bustle, bust work, etc) then just be cautious.

I would also consider bridal consignment shops. Some of them have brand new dresses that have never been worn and the seller just wants to recoup any thing they can get.

Mine was a bit over $800 with taxes but without alterations. If you fall in love with a dress that’s a bit over, take a pic of the tag and look online, it may be cheaper somewhere else or your store may have a sale on it at some point.

What?!? Did you get it from David's? I know there was a sale going on, but I also purposely only looked at dresses with an original price tag of under $1000, so I know it wasn't THAT great of a sale.

I bought mine through DB on sale. It was about $750 including tax. About $400 in alterations through DB - I've heard they can be cheaper with independent seamstresses though.

Mine was $400 from Cocomelody. Waiting for it to arrive but it’s custom measurements and color. Many happy brides with coco. My veil and accessories I am diy but great options on amazon, eBay aliexpress etc.
no need to pay a small fortune in a dress most people wear once. Luckily I will be able to wear mine again it’s black.
