wedding bands via amazon.com

Cathasach, on May 2, 2010 at 1:05 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

Has anyone here ever ordered their wedding bands on Amazon? They have such great prices but something makes me so nervous about ordering jewelry online however they have the same wedding bands we like at Zales for HALF the price on Amazon!

The one pictured below is $319 on Amazon, normally $799 @ Zales but currently on sale for $599 for Mother's Day... I mean... $319 is kinda hard to beat... ya know?

His ring is more in the $50-$100 range for a ring that costs almost $400 at Zales. It's NUTS!

I got what was my first engagement ring and is now my wedding band at overstock and I love it! We got fh's rings (both his mangement--go ahead laugh I did-- and his wedding band) on ebay at a shop that has high quality for an awesome price! I agree though those prices are unbeatable!

Amazon either sells direct (obviously respected seller with good return policy) OR through vendors (you should read their reviews.

In any case - you have to compare "apples to apples" - meaning same gold CT, same carat weight on diamonds, same color of diamonds, same clarity, etc, etc.

Give us the link to Amazon ring, so we can comment more. Smiley smile

Here's the Amazon link. It has 7 great reviews, I just wish they provided a little more info.

What kind of info are you still looking for? It looks like they give all the specs on the ring itself.

It looks like at least 4 of the 7 reviewers are real people--if you're ever suspicious (it would be pretty easy to write some plants), just click on "See all my reviews" next to their names. One person on that page has NINE PAGES of reviews on Amazon, so I'm pretty sure he's legit, and three others have pretty lengthy review records. The fact that ALL of them gave it 5 stars is a good sign (whenever you see something with any 1 or 2-star reviews, it's always a good idea to read them, obviously).

FH and I got my engagement ring and both of our wedding rings off Amazon; although none of them are very fancy, we definitely saved a ton of money by getting his tungsten carbide ring there and not a bigger jewelry store, and the material is the same. And even if you do buy from a marketplace seller, Amazon has policies to protect you if they don't provide the item as described.

Thanks Cabell. I didn't think to look at the reviewers other reviews to see how legit they were.

Agreed on saving a ton. FH and I will be able to get him two rings (one for work and one for everyday) for LESS the price of just one from Zales. Can't wait to tell him when he returns home tomorrow.

A couple of them only have that single item reviewed, which is definitely suspicious. But still, 3-4 five star reviews and no 1 or 2-star reviews is really good. Glad I could help!

OK.. really easy! The seller is MontRED. It is a pretty respected Jewelry Seller (I work with online merchants; over 800 of them). Not the biggest one, but I am certain you can find reviews for them.

Also compare this ring to the Zales one.

This ring is 10k Gold Channel-Set Diamond Band (Color H; Clarity I2-I3; Carat weight 1/2 ct. tw.). Also weight of the ring (gold) matters too - the heavier, the better. Check out Zales ring and compare.

    Here are comparable rings:

    - $200.99 - http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_4334EWDTCR50D000P

    - $270 - http://katarina.com/10K-White-Gold-12-ct.-Diamond/M/B000FBLRYM.htm

    - $479 - http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_04483546000P

    - $349 - http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=59360&CatID=59360&Grptyp=PRD&ItemId=1444a06

    - $249 - http://www.amazon.com/Carat-Round-Diamond-Wedding-Anniversary/dp/B001KVBMXW

Just wanted to let you know, that ring you want on Amazon is actually 30% off for Mother's Day. It's $240.80 shipped (unless you live in a state that charges sales tax). Looks like an amazon deal to me.

If you haven't already ordered the one from Amazon, which is a great deal, you should really go check out the selection they have at Sears. Sounds like a weird place to buy a wedding ring, but they are having a 50% off sale on almost all of their jewelry, and the one I went to had a whole case of clearance items as well. I got my ring for $129, and FH's ring for $70.
