Our wedding isn't until 2021. We booked our wedding venue late last month. We did financing so we would have the venue and such paid off before the wedding. We don't like asking for help so we are trying to avoid that.
I started looking right away after the engagement which was September 2018 and my wedding is June 2020. Depending on where you are wanting everything, some places book out years in advance. I am doing a destination beach wedding and I literally decided on and booked my place with just a year notice. Also I am doing a weekday, so even easier. I'd say it all depends on time and location. Spring and Summer are obviously your more popular wedding times so just don't waste too much time. Better safe than sorry. Best of luck.
I'm having my wedding in September of 2021 and I booked my venue on October of 2018 with 2018 price of almost 10 grand. Because where I am having it, its very expensive and they have things book years in advance.
I booked mine a year and half but year should be fine wedding season gets places booked quick so deff at least a year and they normally take a good chunk deposit down to make sure its saved for your day
It depends on a lot of things too. We booked our venue 18 months out. I am glad I did because we booked it with 2018 prices for our 2020 weddings. The price went up $20 a plate in 2019 so it would have hit the budget hard if we would have waited.
2. We booked and then the coordinator told me when I saw her 2 weeks later at a bridal fair that she had 5 brides call for our date within those 2 weeks.
We booked our venue in March and our wedding is July 4, 2020. The venue we knew we wanted is high demand, so we had to take that into consideration. I felt such a relief once we got it booked!
I got engaged in December 2018 and we booked our venue in January of 2019. Our wedding is in August of 2020 and our venue was the first thing that we wanted to handle before anything else. The venue is the hardest of the planning because of the type of wedding that you like to have however is exciting to go looking for a venue.
We picked our wedding date about 1.5 years away and learned quickly that for a fall wedding, most venues were booked for our date. So I recommend, as soon as you pick a date, start doing your research and look at places you may not be completely interested in. It doesn't hurt to look and you may just find a hidden gem like we did.
We booked ours about a year and a half in advanced! Because of the time of year we figured they would book up pretty fast. It all just depends on when you feel comfortable doing so!
I looked at a year out to make sure there was availability, but I'm anxious like that. Passed on one venue because I couldn't schedule for next year until October of this year.
We started touring venues 24 months from our wedding date and booked our venue 22 months in advance. Our wedding date is extremely popular (10/10/20), so we wanted to make sure we were able to book the venue we wanted, plus it allowed us to lock in the 2018 rates.
