I still have 2 years before my wedding so I haven’t booked anything yet. Probably will do a year out or less since ours is mainly being done by us in a park.
We only had a 9 month engagement, and started planning in earnest at month 7.. or venue was booked at around 6 months out. It was the first vendor we started researching and settled on. We looked at 2 in person, until we realized that one of our favorite haunts was starting to host events.
We booked our venue 4 weeks after we got engaged, I started looking immediately, planning is stressful and finding a venue in budget was even harder. Our wedding isn't for another year and a half at this point, so essentially we booked a good 29 months in advance. I don't regret planning early, there is A LOT to do, so plan as early as you can.
It depends on when you hope to have the wedding. I had initially wanted some time to enjoy being engaged before starting the planning process. However, that was shot lived. The first venue to respond to me informed me that they were booking 2 years out. So I had to start getting things rolling within a month bc we wanted to get married the following fall.
We booked in January of 19 for our October 2020 Wedding. We loved the location and the look and we locked in 2018’prices because that is what she gave me when I contacted her originally
Hi Julia! My wedding is August 21, 2021 and I just booked our venue Friday! In a few months I wanna book the DJ because they have a deal for people at the Venue I chose and want to make sure I get to book them!
We started looking at venues immediately after our engagement (Lol) and that was still well over 15 months out from our wedding date. We got engaged April this year and we booked our venue about 5 weeks later. My fiance is extremely organized and HATES procrastinating which means I think we'll make good progress for August 2020!
I chose my venue 14 months in advance, I am using a place that is all inclusive. This gives me time to plan everything and make payments so we didn’t have to take out a loan plus I have time to lose weight so I can look amazing on my big day lol 7/18/2020
My wedding is a year out. I've changed venues since getting engaged. The first venue was booked immediately. Although I love it I needed something that was all inclusive. I later booked Mariani's. I'll have an outdoor ceremony, which is odd because I never considered an outdoor ceremony. My reception will be played, with a menu of entrees to select from, a d a open bar.

For my wedding (10/10/20), I booked the venue on 1/1/19. This is the earliest they would start booking for 2020. It was first come first serve for booking at the time of our first visit (late Fall 2018), so I just stayed in contact with the coordinator between then and the contract signing (1/1/19). I'm so grateful I looked ahead that far in advance (mostly because the date is so darn popular - it just happened to be mine and my fiance's dating anniversary!), or else I'd really be holding my breath by now!
Hi 👋🏽 we booked ours 16 months ahead, our wedding is 10/10/20 we knew it’d be a popular date so that’s why we did it w so much time ahead. Lots of places were already booked! So I think if your date is popular it def helps to get the place u want locked in

I'm booking mine about a year and a half before my date. I honestly figured if i do it early 1. my date will for sure be available and 2. I'll have enough time to plan and make the space exactly what I want.
Also since we area having some out of town people I wanted to make sure to give everyone enough time to save up so they can travel to the wedding.
