I booked 20 months

We booked 20 months out. The venues that we were looking at were in high demand. We changed our date two times because of it. I was dead set on having an October wedding lol. I feel like booking early is better. Because we booked so early with our venue we didn't have much competition for our caterer, photographer, DJ, and officiant. We have all of those contracts and deposits done.

I booked mine over 2 years out! I was sold by the grounds and the location.

I think a lot would change depending on the venue. High demand venues can book 1-2 years out. Mine is already full until 2020.

Our wedding is next September 12,2020 and we just went and look at and put a deposit down on our venue this week. We have 13.5 months to go

My wedding is 2021 & my venue was booked as of June 2019

We chose our venue about a week after we got engaged! We booked about 15 months before the wedding and got one of the last available summer dates so we were grateful we had enough time!

We actually haven’t book our wedding venue just yet. We’re still about 3 years out from our wedding date, but we do know where we want to get married and have already toured it

I booked mine just shy of a year in advance. The venue is in fairly high demand in Milwaukee and it happened to have a weekend I wanted open. Once I had the venue everything else is so much easier to plan.

A year and a half

I was engaged March 15th, 2019. My wedding date ended up being March 28th 2021.

I just started Googling different venues. I needed the most amenities for the cheapest price. I ended up looking at about 35 online and going see about 17 in person. I booked my venue on 7/8/2019. It worked out great!!

It just depends on how long you think it will take you, Do you have a strict budget??, are there specific details you have to have??, are you indecisive or picky?? Answering those questions might help you figure out how soon after engagement you want to start looking.
It took me 4 months to find mine but I am on a strict budget, trying to find the best place for the best price!!

After I found it, It feels so great because I know I got an amazing deal, I looked at so many places, I definitely know I found the best place for my fiance and I to celebrate our special day!!

I booked mine just over a year in advance. I was pretty lucky too because the golf club we chose shuts down the whole club for weddings so there’s only two a year!

I won't be really looking at venues or vendors until after everything is crocheted. Once I have my "inventory" I will then begin working on venue and vendors.

We are talking about possibly a destination ceremony.

We finished paying the down payment about a year and 3 months in advance. Since the wedding will be in Oct 2020 and its a new and becoming somewhat popular venue I wanted to book that sucker.

I'm the mother of the bride and my daughter Lauren booked her venue 6 days after the proposal.

We started looking 14 months out and the date we wanted was already all booked up. If y’all have a set date that you want to get married, the earlier the better! If you are flexible with the date it can be easier.
