I had witnessed a (what I now know is a "heated" topic) thread talking about not serving alcohol and felt concerned about my super loved venue. The venue does not allow alcohol. I am now wiser and realize that you should consider your guest for the reception! Smiley smile Don't make my mistake!!

Wow, using the actual website instead of your phone for the forum is WAY easier. Cool haha.

FH loves his beer - so he'll definitely have no issue with me becoming wiser lol.

Did I really just read a post that said a bride appreciated a car bar situation in her venue's parking lot? Yes, I did...here it is, "I just went to a dry wedding and been to another before this one and knowing what the case was, we brought our own alcohol had it out in the car w a mixer and a cooler of ice and jello shots. We weren't greedy as others had the same idea we all shared! Both weddings were still a blast the bride amd groom did not mind and everyone had a great time!" Oh, I'm sure the bride and groom didn't mind, and I'm POSITIVE that others shared the same idea (remember, FutureMrsDavis, the author of that explosive post, said on another post that she is willing to hire people to seek out flask holders and tell them to leave her wedding). They got the great party they wanted without spending a dime on liquor. They had no problem with the fact that their guests had to walk out to a parking lot and play with open containers of alcohol in a vehicle (which is against the law in this state).

If that doesn't tell a couple how important alcohol is to a reception, then nothing else will.

Nicole, I just congratulated you on your engagement this morning (wasn't it last Saturday). You don't have to settle on a venue today. In fact, we hear from brides literally days after their engagement. We work with them, but you have no idea how far apart those first ideas are from the final product. Don't get ahead of yourself. Your wedding is 16 months away. Please, keep looking. The more opulent the venue, the more your guests will be expecting cocktails -- or at least wine -- at a wedding. All of the cute pinterest projects in the world will garner a glance and an "oh, that's great", but if they're holding lemonade or soda, the thrill won't last long.

Matt, if you're out there...I missed your post. I refreshed the page and it was gone. I'm pissed off. You already had 10 likes...I wanted to read it.

Can someone from Thirsty Thursday send me a drink? Because I'm realizing how cringe worthy my forum was. >.<

Glad you see the error in your ways.. A new venue is obviously a must... Who ever said people can bring alcohol and drink it in their car is giving dangerous advice, the safest way is to have a bartender service alcohol to your guests. Keep searching.

    Juuuustt gonna leave these here:

I personally don't mind if there is a dry wedding, but only for the right reasons. Like religious reasons. If you want a dry wedding cause you'd rather have a photobooth and 10 candy bars, I'll side eye the shit outta ya. Guests come first.

FMS Jfc. How are we any more ridiculous than a white knight that revives a resolved thread just to insult people?

Nicole your guests will appreciate your decision. I have never been to a dry wedding. Even a beer and wine bar is pretty awesome.
