I had witnessed a (what I now know is a "heated" topic) thread talking about not serving alcohol and felt concerned about my super loved venue. The venue does not allow alcohol. I am now wiser and realize that you should consider your guest for the reception! Smiley smile Don't make my mistake!!

Nicole I hope you can find another beautiful venue.

If I had a dry wedding with my family and friends the way they drink, it would have been a huge liability at a dry venue.

And if you're trying to keep a budget, do beer and wine.

Yay for Nicole! It doesn't have to be a big fancy (expensive) bar. Beer and Wine is always a great and appreciated go-to that many couples choose to save while still properly hosting.

Change your title to include "Updated Pg 4"

That's because we're the only wedding forum that knows how to party, Amy.

Lauren, I think we can do beer and wine! Those decisions will have to ride with FH - he'll know more about it than I do lol but thank you for advice!

@Nicole--So happy to hear that you are at least considering looking further. Your guests will thank you for it.

Don't be surprised if you continue to get comments of people saying "FIND ANOTHER VENUE", etc. Often times someone will read the original post, see five pages of comments and give their two cents without catching up. They may not realize that you have "seen the light" and will comment anyway.

You can just let it be, or if you like, you can edit your post to have an UPDATE (that because of the opinions and examples you've seen here) that you are considering looking further!

Katherine H- I definitely am not someone who can't admit they were wrong! Can I blame it on the fact it's because this is my first real day of planning and I was an idiot in my excitement? Smiley smile

You can definitely do just beer and wine. Our Bartender, with all alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks was only $600. Because I signed the contract that day he dropped the price to $350. We had several choices of beer, wine, hot, and cold drinks. That was for a guest count of 86 people. And he did all of the shopping for us.

Aww Nicole, next time just edit your post to say "Update Page X" or the first part of your description to say "Update- Got it! Changed my mind!" so people can see what the thread was about if they too want a alcohol-free venue but think it's still OK.

Glad you have come over to the dark side though!

There seems to be a bunch in the area to chose from.

Nicole, I find it SO refreshing that you were able to listen to the criticism and rethink. Usually these threads take a very different turn!

    Welcome to WW!

So you all slightly exhausted me lol. I'm going to try to do some more work and then review the comments (keeping in mind that I was the idiot who posted a heated topic!) So I can pass on the advice/reasoning to the FH! If anyone felt ignored I'm so sorry - I struggled a bit keeping up with everyone. :-/
