Total per person cost (including everything!)

BunBuns, on September 30, 2012 at 8:07 PM Posted in Planning 0 27

What's your total per person cost (or estimated per person cost for brides like me just starting out planning)?

Ours is looking like $60 at the very minimum, I'm just curious about how this compares to the average.

I am including everything (not just food), so the total wedding (estimated) cost divided by the number or people.

We will probably only be around $40-$50 dollars per person for everything, but keep in mind I live in Missouri and we have the lowest cost of living of anywhere. Very lucky.

I don't have 100% of my expenses so far, but mine could be like.... $100 per person when it's all said and done? I don't know if that's good or bad. Honestly, we aren't having an extravagant wedding; our venue is the cheapest one we looked at and could be one of the cheapest around, and we're getting an amazing deal on the food as well, so I'm willing to spend more on details like invitations and so on. We're not counting on more than 100 people so that might have something to do with it.

If we stick to budget...it'll end up being anywhere from about $130-$150 per person. I'm not including rings or honeymoon in that though, rings are paid for and honeymoon will be completely separate, if at all.

Not sure the cost of my dress, our rings, or the photographer should be included in the per person cost. We booked an all inclusive venue except for alcohol or photographer for the ceremony and reception for min of 100 people. Cost will be about 90 -95 per person.

From my research as a vendor/bride to be.. I would say the average is about $100-150. Where you live will be a factor. Someone in NYC will pay double-triple what I do for the same thing Im getting for $100 in central NY.

Food & alcohol is $115 pp at this stage.

The price of the photographer and DJ doesn't change based on your numbers, so I don't get why you would incorporate them into the per person cost. If I divide my wedding budget ($25,000 not including honeymoon) by the number of guests I currently have on my guest list (58) then you get $431.00

Ours was $160pp, including EVERYTHING from postage to the rehearsal dinner to my socks to the catering.

FWIW, we had a modest budget, scrimped a bit, did a bit of DIY, and live in a two-bit town. We designed our own invitations and had them printed locally and inexpensively; she wore what was marketed as a bridesmaids dress, I wore a blazer; we bought silver rings; we kept the guest list close to 60; we didn't offer liquor as part of the open bar; the venue was essentially "free" since we did it at the restaurant that we chose for catering and had the reception before they opened for the evening; we did heavy appetizers instead of a sit-down to save even more...

As it stands, if everyone we invite attends, $290. If we get the number we really expect, $385! Damn! People better be grateful, haha.

Are you asking every, everything or just the reception per person cost? For every, everything we'll be between $190-210 pp but just for food, drinks, etc we're at $75.
