The difference between being mean and being truthful...

I'm just wondering if there is a difference between being a complete rude b!t#h and being honest. Growing up, I was taught to still be polite, even if I don't agree with someone and I still try and stick to that as much as I possibly can. I'm just wondering if anyone out there agrees with this or if...

I'm just wondering if there is a difference between being a complete rude b!t#h and being honest. Growing up, I was taught to still be polite, even if I don't agree with someone and I still try and stick to that as much as I possibly can. I'm just wondering if anyone out there agrees with this or if nobody really cares about how they might make someone else feel. Yes, i know that some people don't like to "sugarcoat " things or whatever, but that can still be done in a polite manner. Just wondering what is up with people these days, being so rude and inconsiderate.

@ Carolina, I see what you are saying and respect your opinion. I also see where people are relating this post to ww. Like I said, it's not just ww, but everywhere.

You're never going to get what you want from everybody, particularly, common decency, sensitivity and understanding. That's the way of the world. It is filled with bitter and angry people. Don't question their rudeness nor tolerate it. Just be yourself. If they are rude, then that is their problem, not yours and it's not up to you to teach them how to be better human beings. Just be yourself and realize that you have greatness, love and integrity. Live everyday with these positive thoughts. And, when people are rude, just smile at them and walk away. Don't dignify them with an answer, and least of all, don't waste your energy by getting pissed. Use your energy to be a blessing to others.

Pretty strange but reading thru all of these posts you can see the 'cliques'.

If it makes you feel any better Brandi I got your point and didn't think it had anything to do with people here on WW, but just life in general. And as I said before I agree that society today doesn't seem to awful concerned with being polite. Everyone has a choice as to how they are going to say something and IMHO some people say they are just being 'blunt' because they are to self centered to really care whether what they say hurts or not.

I don't know why anyone is getting upset with this post. Unless their consciences are being pricked.....

I hear you & agree Brandi. Very much so. It's a shame and as mentioned earlier, I almost didn't stick around when I first came on. I had read for a very long time before ever posting and was so surprised at how I was treated by some! This should be a place of support for a situation that can &IS a stressful situation as can be attested by the many, many posts on here about one thing or another! If we can't be supportive to each other around other people who SHOULD know how it feels since we're all in the same boat & all brides then I guess why have this forum? We all want to feel beautiful, have our special day and have for that one day, be the star of the show & feel loved. It's a hard thing to see that not happen & what seems like almost high school behavior and attacking, all in the name of "being honest". There are ways to be honest and not attack or make someone else feel small. It's wrong to do &brings a bad atmosphere for all. It puts everyone on edge & creates mistrust.

Thanks Christina. I just don't get how it's fine to talk about anything else on here, but when I am talkin about people bein rude, some on here are offended??? I don't get how this post was rude, when all 'm sayin is that I wish people could be kinder. Yes, I know it's never gonna happen, but what's wrong with putting it out there? I guess I shouldn't have used the word morals? Idk...

@ Tiffany...lol. I see what you are sayin. I think some people just get really hurt because this is the only place that they can come to and talk about their weddings. Like I said, I was talkin about people in general. I know there's always gonna be people like that no matter what. Trust me, I have dealt with plenty of them. I still can't help but wonder why they want to make other people feel like crap though.

So come. Talk about your wedding. We all do. But know that opions are given when they are asked for. And just like EVERYTHING ELSE ON THE INTERNET, you take it with a grain of salt.

As for the world... opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one and they all stink. Its a fact of life.

Life is much too short to sweat the small stuff. Enjoy planning your weddings. Enjoy being who you are and if it pisses somebody off, so be it. Do you need approval? Love yourself enough and you won't.

And that my dear brings us to the end of my useful cliches.

I kind of agree with you Tiffany. As insignificant as the cyber world should be, the reality is, people have feelings no matter where they are being expressed. It gives no one the right to put anyone down. Seriously tho, we have children in this world taking their own lives because they feel bullied in their real lives as well as cyber space.

It is a real problem. And as grown women, it's not hard to see where some of these young cyber bullies get it from. Some wrongs should be addressed, whether they bring about change or not. In the attempt to do so, if one person takes a second look at themselves and makes a change, that's all that matters. I digress from this post. Brandi, KUDOS!!!!!

@Tiffany, I think that the Internet world knocks louder, and harder, than face to face situations.

People on the net can say what they want to, and remain in the shadows. People tend to say much more on an online forum, than they do in person.
