So besides the honeyfunds, money jars, self-catering madness, what are the other tacky things you have seen at other weddings???????

Went to a wedding in June that had a limited amount of beer/wine...as soon as they were gone, we were left with water/lemonade. Which was over an hour before the end of the reception...I think I got two drinks in.

I guess my wedding is going to be tacky as ever! Considering 50 years down the road, I would never change a thing about what happens at my wedding and that my friends and family have fun!!!!

Kidnapping the bride and having the guest pay a "ransom" to bring her back to the wedding...

Well I mean that's why I was asking, I wanted to know what from this huge list of things were in your wedding. Just curious.

I think the general consensus is taking care of your guests. After that, it's mostly a matter of opinion...

I think the Mr. Mrs. stuff is super tacky and the having separate cakes...I mean you getting married, get one cake for crying outloud.

@ Kate - I guess I was tacky because I danced the entire reception in flip flops. No f*cks were given.

@ Lisa - Everything you said was tacky.

@ Mandi That is a new one for me. I've never heard of that!!

And how are flip flops tacky? Providing comfortable shoes for your guests that have been in heels for hours seems pretty considerate to me

90% of the weddings I've been to have been cash or toonie bar so I don't find them offensive. I've come to expect it. We are providing beer and wine. My FSIL texted me this morning asking if I still wanted her to bring an appetizer...ummm WTF? Apparently my FMIL has asked people to "pitch in" for food to save us money...oh dear God. I have some phone calls to make today to everyone that was called by her.

I'm fine with comfortable footwear for dancing but flip flops are tacky

Man- I had no idea head tables got this much hate. Maybe it is a Midwest thing (I'm in Michigan). Or maybe my FH and I are just super social and never care about sitting by ourselves for 45 minutes. Either way, it's happening.

And, we are providing flip flops for anyone who wants to kick off their heels. I will never understand how that's tacky. Yes, we are having a formal wedding, but no one wants to wear heels for 12 hours.

I actually think it's tacky when the drink options are alcohol and water. Maybe it's because I don't drink, but I'm always annoyed that they couldn't find anywhere in the budget to put out some soda or something...

A head table is not tacky! A garter toss is not tacky! Bubbles are not tacky! Just because YOU don't like the idea does not mean that it is tacky!

STD text messages is something tacky I have heard of.

I wouldn't describe head tables as tacky. They're rude because they separate your nearest and dearest from their dates/SO's.

I disagree it is 30-35min away from your S.O. In the same room. It's not that serious!
