Whether it sounds like something funny, creates a funny first/last combo, or will have you saying "you know, like [blank]" for the rest of your life, what jokes are going to come after you change your name?

My inititals will be JEW. And my last name will be Wiseman. So please forgive me if you are very religious but last year my best friend and I were cracking up over the fact that I will be a Wise Man and a JEW, aka Jesus. I told her she could call me JC.

ETA; sometimes I think about signing Christmas cards from the Wisemen, instead of from the Wisemans, because I think that would be funny to do just one time.

My maiden name is Peck so growing up the nickname was sometimes Peckerhead.

Oh goodness, I can't wait to drop my name. It's 12 letters and I've never met anyone that could pronounce it. As a teacher, it's super frustrating and I cannot wait to get my hands on FH's last name.

It's Carvino. Vino, like wine..... but in a car Smiley smile

Going from a crazy polish last name no one can pronounce to Jones. So excited not to have to spell it constantly!

I have always loved my complicated Polish last name ( I can relate to the brides changing last names over to that kind, but hey remember it's not always a bad thing). Smiley smile The harder a name is to say and spell the tougher it is for solicitors to be bothered with. My new last name got changed to a typical American name. Sigh: I miss the good ole days where my last name had character to it.

I'm going to be Mrs. Quick.

When we first started dating FH joked about not using it as a name when you order pizza because they get nasty pretty fast thinking you're being a Smart@*s! I thought he was just being his normal funny self- but he was right!

Unfortunately, there are a lot of puns with my future last name

I love this thread! I went from an 11 letter Icelandic last name that no one can pronounce or spell to... Thayer! But I have to say, I have to spell it a lot more than I thought I would. People think I'm saying "There" when I say it.

Mine will be Cobb, which is funny because I used to call FH Sean Corn-on-the-cobb and Cobb salad, and now I will be getting a taste of my own medicine haha

My new name will be Kraft, and my FH and his family keep saying you have to tell them Kraft like the macaroni and cheese not Craft. I think it's cute, but FH says "it maybe cute now but when you have people sing you the macaroni and cheese song it won't be cute for long). Lmao

Lol! Some of these are making me feel better because I'm struggling with this. My new last name will now rhyme with my first name. Has anyone seen The Wedding Singer? "Julia Gulia...." That will be me crying as I introduce myself in the mirror lol. It really makes me re-think the name change. I like my name!

My principal asked me what my last name is going to be when I got engaged. I'm currently "Ms Wattenbarger" and I'm going to "Mrs Hollingsworth" His immediate response was to laugh and tell me it's not getting any shorter! Thanks. I knew that.
