spa day instead of bachelorette party!

Sherri, on April 9, 2012 at 3:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 24

My sister and I decided to just do a spa day with us since everyone else in the bridal party and a lot of my friends wouldnt be able to make it to a party. LAME O's! haha.

Any suggestions for an ideal spa day? I have never been before

If you have never received a facial, I would not decide to have your 1st one right before your wedding. You have No idea how your face will react. No need to have a red face or break out.

My vote is for a full body massage. I loved mine the day before my wedding. I hear hot rock massages are great, but I have not had one of those yet. Get a Pedicure and Manicure. A paraffin wax treatment? Is there a location near you that also has hot tubs at their locations that you can go sit in that for awhile?

That sounds like an awesome idea! I would do massages, facials and mani/pedi's. How many people are going to be there? Just know that spa's are not cheap! The full day package at one of the spa's where I live is $300. Then you have to tip on top of that.

    Lucky! I want that.

No suggestions other than RELAX and have fun. Get a massage or a facial and get nails and feet done!

I already had my Bridal Shower about a month ago. But that sounds so awesome!

My mom and I are gonna go thursday and get our nails done but that is it as far as I know.

I second Hayley's suggestion regarding facials. I'm going to get one soon to see how it'll be for my wedding at the end of the year.

In addition to massages, manis and pedis, some of the spas near me offer a light lunch, some champagne and strawberries, that kind of thing. I would add that to the list for a spa day.

It depends on how much you want to spend and what is available to you. The Ritz Carlton has a great SPA! at least here in South Florida. If you have one close by or can travel to one go right ahead. I will suggest you book the day with the spa you decide to go. This way there will be no surprises.

Sherren, I love the idea and am really considering it myself. I agree with others about not trying a facial right before the wedding. The rest sounds wonderful though!

I'm third-ing the "don't do a facial if you don't know how you will react" idea.

And you might not even want to get a massage if you haven't gotten them before.

Massages really get your blood flowing and can flush out hidden sicknesses, making you sick shortly after a massage. You can also end up really really sore. If you do get a massage (i definitely recommend hot stones, the heat relaxes the muscles before the massage therapist goes in a really works it) make sure you drink lots of water after.

I'd say the best things to go for are mani's, pedi's, and small massages like hand massages or head massages. Also- if they have sauna's or steam rooms those are really nice.

I agree with the hour full body message, mani pedi an facial. I just told my FH yesterday that is what we will be doing the day before our wedding.

My sister is paying for it for just the both of us.

I am definitely going to get a massage! I need one of those.

I have noticed the hot stone massage pop up alot. How are those?

And I have had a facial before and my face felt great after!

I promised the FH I wouldnt get a mani/pedi til he gets here cuz he wants to take me to do that lol.

That's what we are planning on doing!! But we are making a weekend out of it! I'm not into the whole penis themed decor so we opted for a girls, spa/ pool/ dinner/ dancing weekend in Palm Springs! Plus my 16 yr old daughter is my MOH and I just don't want to see her playing "Pin the %ock on the Jock"!!!! Ya No!

My friends and I also did a spa day but mostly because I am a picky bride - haha who isn't allowed to be picky about their special day. I live near Canton, Ohio where there is not much to do so my friends and I decided to prep for the wedding day with our bachelorette party. I have always wanted laser hair removal for my underarms so we visited a medical spa in the area and I had my underarms and bikini line done in time for the wedding and honeymoon. It was a great way to treat myself to something I have always wanted to do but have a good time doing it with my friends. And my MOH is planning her wedding and wants to do the same thing - goes to show how much fun it was. And for ours we had a little menu my friends could choose from - which included food and drinks, services, and beauty products. You can see a list of possible services here (http://www.jdvmedspa.com/med-spa-services) -this was the spa we visited. Hope you're special day is amazing!

I love this idea. I don't like to drink because I can't hold my alcohol and I know my girls are going to buy me shots. I would so rather have a mani/pedi than be puking and have a hangover the next day. I might steal the idea!

You definitely have to get a massage. They are wonderful!
