My childhood friend said I could borrow her flower headpiece that she wore for her wedding. I actually thought it was a really good idea when she mentioned it. But I ended up going with my own headpiece when I purchased my dress at David’s. I’m not sure what to do now. What about a pretty bracelet, necklace, shoes, there are so many things that could be borrowed and made special.

Our "borrowed" was a kiddush cup that we borrowed for the blessing over wine. Is there something you could borrow for the ceremony, even if it's not something you wear?

I'm wearing my Mom's earrings. I like the idea of borrowing something for your bouquet. I need a something old and was hoping I could think of something to use in the bouquet. I have no idea what to use though!

I am wearing my mom's pearl necklace. For my new, I have my dress. Blue is going to be those "I Do" stickers for my shoes, and my old is going to be an antique cameo on my bouquet. But, I love the idea of a head piece if you don't have one already.

I'm borrowing my best friend's veil. 6 of 9 of her bridesmaids have worn it and I'll be the last (the other two were already married) so she is going to embroider all of her bridesmaids name on it after my wedding...think that's kinda cool.

Otherwise, I would ask to wear a pair of my mom's diamond earrings.

I completely forgot about it and at the last minute borrwed a penny from my MOH to put in my shoe. My blue....was the blue ribbon I sewed on the garter that I made for my daughter. She didn't know it. I wasn't going to wear one, but I bought one sewed on the blue ribbon and an old miraculous medal and her Italian horn. During the time it would have been to toss it, I handed it to her. She wore it on her wedding day.

    My daughter's

old....to represent her Irish side she put her Nannie's emerald stick pin in her bouquet.

borrowed....she carried the rosary I carred when I gave birth to her and wore the pearls her father gave me on our first Christmas together.

blue...I bought her a blue Hanky Panky thong that said "I Do" in Swarovski Crystals.

    New....Dress, veil and shoes

I actually had a lot borrowed....all my jewellery (necklace, braclet and earrings) borrowed from my aunt; purse and garter borrowed from my MOH.

Blue.....a blue ribbon pinned onto my bouquet, a blue ribbon sewed onto my garter.

    New.....dress, shoes, veil.

    Old....my hanky from my MOH.

I talked with my matron of honor and she is going to bring her veil for me to try on in March! Praying it works! It's cathedral length which I didn't want but my dress has a long train so it should look good. SO HOPE it matches the fabric. So that can be my something borrowed!! Keep your fingers crossed!

My old and borrowed are the same, I am taking a strand of my mother's pearls and doubling it around my wrist for a bracelet!

I don't have anything to borrow either - it's driving me crazy trying to figure something out.

Carole: wear did you get your daughter's thong from? I'm looking to do the same thing.

I borrowed earrings from the mom of a friend, and I'm so glad I did-- pearls are NOT my thing, and if I'd bought a pair just for the wedding, I would never have worn them again!
