Well I’m a size 18 and I got a fitted dress from the top of my hips to my bust. I never thought I would have walked away with such a plain dress but I couldn’t be happier! My big day is December 7th, 2019 and I had the dress in the picture done in platinum silver after I saw it come in I just about died from giggling. Just remember that you look beautiful in everything but you will know when it is the dress for your day! Hope this helps you!

As others have said, go with Spanx or another brand of high quality undergarment to hold everything in place and to ensure you don’t end up with dreaded underwear lines. Also bear in mind that the dress will be altered to better fit your curves and flatter your shape - seamstresses can really work wonders! Trust me, I cried after my first alteration because it looked like I had no tush!! It’s funny now, but my seamstress altered it once more to flatter my figure; she was a miracle worker with my dress! Go into it with an open mind and try different styles. You’ll find something you love!

How much Is your budget? You can get a custom made One with about $700. That's what i did and i received my gown in less than 2 months

My biggest requirement was that I did NOT want to wear Spanx the day of my wedding. I tried on a fitted dress, and while it looked ok in photos, I knew I could not gain 1 single pound between now and the wedding if I wanted to get it, otherwise it would not look right.

I found this Dress (not fitted), but love it because of the built in bra, and NOOO SPANNXXXXXXXX. This is a terrible picture of it. It really is an illusion neckline and we are adding the straps you see as off the shoulder/cap sleeve straps for more support. I wear a size 16/18 normally, I think this was also an 18.

My recommendations: do what you will be comfortable in and feel confident in! For me it was an A-line. I think the fitted looks bomb, but also knew I would be stressing way too much about fitting into it the day of!

I too am a curvy bride and I opted for a white bustier to wear under my strapless ball gown. When I put on the dress, I felt wonderful and knew right away that this was the dress for me. However, I just did my bridal portraits, and now I'm feeling super self conscious. Do any other curvy brides feel this way?
