S'more Love Wedding Favors

Mrs. León, on August 31, 2015 at 3:58 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 21

Is anyone doing the S'more Love wedding favors that you see on Pintrest? I've been thinking about doing this and was wondering how much to put in each bag and what type of bag to use. Any input would be helpful.

I'm not doing them, but I have gotten them several times in a very similar box.

Every single time they were stale. And I tried to eat them with a day or two. The graham crackers where not the good kind of soft and the marshmallows were a weird consistency. These don't seem to keep air out so well. So I guess my advice is to avoid boxes like those haha.

I'm planning on doing these! I have treat bags to put them in instead, they are the larger 9.5 in bags. I've been playing around with how to keep them fresh, the graham crackers get soft when they are with the marshmallows too long. I'm going to try using chocolate that is individually wrapped and layering the crackers furthest from the marshmallows. I'm using twine to close the bags. Right now I'm planning in 4 cracker pieces, 4 marshmallows, and 2 chocolate pieces.

I wanted to do this, but FH said no, pointing out the fact that how many people are actually going to go home and make up a s'more. Super cute, but not really practical I guess.

I'm doing these for after dinner. There are 3 fire pits on the property though so they should get used. I'm not sure how I will offer them though. Maybe I will get some cute containers and put each ingredient in separate ones. If you do the boxes though, I would put enough to make 2 in each box.

I didn't even think about them getting stale. Hmm I may need to rethink now. Thanks.

We did a smores bar at our fire pit. I was too lazy to spend the effort with making them all cute

I got them in a bag one time. I liked them because...food. But its not like I was going to actually make smores with them. I just ate the graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate separated. I ate one bag at the wedding and it was fine. I ate my DH's bag 2 weeks later and it was stale. As far as favors go, they are one of my favorites.

Really cute idea if you have a fire pit at the wedding but if not like a previous poster said they go stale quickly.

As a beach venue, we like them because people can have a fire on the beach at the end of the reception and this gives the guests reason to go enjoy the fire with everyone. If you aren't planning on a fire for your guests to be making s'mores, I wouldn't recommend doing this for your wedding favor.

We are doing something like this.. We aren't sure if we are going to do a bar or do packages. If we do packages, they will put them in bags tho with probably enough to to make 2 s'mores per bag. I will be putting them together (hopefully with some help) two days before the wedding, so they don't go stale as quickly.

To determine if I do a bar vs packages. I think I'll make a "trial" in a package - leave it for 2-3 days and then eat it to see if it becomes stale that quickly.

ETA: we have an outside fireplace at purr venue, so people can make the s'mores right away.

We're doing a s'mores bar (c'mon, it's a Girl Scout camp, it's required!) and did a mini test run last summer at a party at our house. The grahams get stale very quickly, to the point where I had to toss all the ones I set out at the beginning, and let people open the packages as needed. It wasn't as pretty, so I've been looking at the individually wrapped grahams so we can set them out on the bar early in the night without worry.

If you try to do favors like the Pinterest thing, and you actually want people to eat them, I highly suggest pre-packaged grahams like these: http://www.amazon.com/Honey-Maid-Crackers-0-5-Ounce-Individually/dp/B003WF102M

I like the idea of buying the individually wrapped graham crackers, but we would need 2 boxes which is $80! Has anyone tried wrapping the graham crackers in Saran Wrap instead? And then packaging everything? We may just try this so we know. Our wedding is 10.20.18 and we will have a big bon fire at the venue following the reception.

    I found them cheaper: https://www.webstaurantstore.com/nabisco-2-count-50-oz-honey-maid-honey-graham-crackers-snack-pack-case/565136800.html

Check the 2 count and the 3 count (I think qty of crackers in the package??).
