So quick poll...I have a gorgeous ring that I never want to take off. Who here sleeps with their rings on or doesn't and why? What's the protocol here?

I sleep with mine on! Mostly because I only get to wear my ring a few days a week. I am a nurse and prefer not to wear my ring at work due to all of the possible bodily fluids that could get on it. Not to mention, the constant use of hand sanitizer and soap. So any chance that I get to wear my ring, I take it!!

I never take mine off. I wear it literally all the time.
I slept with mine on for about a week or two after the proposal. I weaned myself off of the attachment. Now it just occasionally happens if I forget, which really isn't all that often.
My ring has prongs on the side that hold in my side stones that have a tendency to catch on stuff and I do worry about my finger swelling while I sleep.
I heard something once about how to care for really good jewelry and it was referred to as the 5 S's. Never Sleep, Shower, Sweat, Swim, or Spray (so perfumes or products). I don't know if that has any truth to it, but it sounds legit. Haha. I personally do not sleep in mine because my hands swell, and because I fidget when I sleep. I also don't wear it when I put on make up, or when I cook.
My ring (and all jewelry) is the last thing on and first item off. I only wear it when I leave the house or if we are hosting a party. The minute I am home or people leave, the ring comes off and onto a ring dish. I'm not a fan on jewelry on me and even after 15 months not used to wearing the ring. I don't think I've ever slept with it on but I know plenty of people who do. I have a fake ring ($10) I take with me on vacations since I don't travel with the real one but again, I know plenty of women that do with their erings. I don't see anything wrong with sleeping or traveling with it. Just not a personal preference.
I take mines off when I get home. When I first got engaged and sleep with it on, my hand would hurt in the morning. i started to remove it before bed, and the pain stopped.
I take mine off and keep it in my ring box overnight because my hands swell and I'm afraid I'll snag it on something. I also don't shower with it on or wash dishes/ prepare raw meats. I used to take it off when I washed my hands but I'm too afraid of losing it that way.
It's my FH's great grandmas and over 70 years old so I don't like to take any unnecessary risks.
I sleep with mine! It is very comfy and doesn't bother me sleeping. I don't shower with it though I do yoga in it but not weights, I have a silicone band for that!
When we 1st got engaged I took off my ring to sleep, but I would often forget to put it back on. Now the only times I take it off is when I'm dealing with raw meat to cook, washing my hair, and maybe when I work out.
When I first got engaged I never took my ring off, but I've lost some weight and it's a little loose now so I have one of those plastic ring spacer things on it which makes it really annoying to do things like wash my hands or face with it on, so I take it off a lot now. I take it off to clean, cook, if I'm putting on lotion, if I'm washing my face, so I end up not putting it back on before bed simply because the last thing I do before I go to sleep is put on lotion.
I take mine off just before bed and put it back on just before leaving for work (after showering and doing my hair). I leave it on the base of my lamp on my nightstand. It's right next to my morning medication and my phone, so putting it on is part of my morning routine. I also take it off when using cleaning products or handling raw meat, but I have a specific place in the kitchen for it. I just prefer to sleep without any jewelry and then I don't worry about catching it on anything.
