For those that are concerned about liability and everyone being too drunk, I take your points and I would likely have responded in the negative as well if I didn't have the whole information.

I am having a lot of trouble picturing a) what venue would allow bottles of hard alcohol on tables for guests to pour themselves and b) the number of people puking in the bushes by the time the cake is cut. I get that you like the idea, and shots are ok at your wedding. But I just can't see this ending well, in any circumstance. Are your parents and grandparents going to be doing shots too?

What many people tried to tell her is that this is a very bad, potentially dangerous, potentially life threatening idea that probably won't fly at her venue since venues have figured out that unlimited amounts of undiluted alcohol are not a good idea even when controlled by a bartender.

But you continue to stick up for her and facilitate her absolutely ridiculous idea. It's all fun and games until someone runs into a tree.

Apparently you didn't listen to yourself. The idea won't fly at her venue....then there is no issue. But at the same time I think she would know the dangers just like all of us when people drink at our weddings. Getting drunk off wine and driving is no different then getting drunk from shots. You still can't drive. You'll still get in trouble. You'll still puke. She even said there's a lot of details she didn't mention so instead of giving her crap you people could just say you may want to think about this part of your idea. Not say half the stuff you guys did. She didn't need half of that. But instead of continuing to give her crap about her idea please keep coming at me with all your comebacks. I do enjoy them.
