Jessica, on November 16, 2010 at 11:12 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

Do I have to serve my champagne in champagne glasses? or can I just do it out of plastic cups? i am not having a fancy wedding at all..everything will be plastic anyways.

Yes, the dollar tree sells champagne glasses. I think 6 for a buck. I bought these for my fiance's college graduation party last year. Easy breezy

I would actaully skip the champagne toast, From what I gathered, lots of people don't even drink it, and it gets wasted. BUT if you really want it, use the plastic cups!

I'm with FMS. No one but me and my bm's drank the champagne at our wedding. Luckily, I only bought enough for the wedding party haha everyone just drank the beer.

Honestly I would skip the champagne. We cut it from our reception package to save $2 PP. Everyone will toast with what they have. I've been to plenty of weddings without champagne and never missed it. The weddings I've been to WITH champagne, there were a lot of un-dranken glasses of champagne on the table.

I would also skip the champagne. If you choose not to, go with the plastic flutes to keep things the same. Most people usually don't drink it anyway.

We are doing a champagne toast, and frankly the FH is quite picky with regard to champagne and wine, so it is costing us not only the extra flute rental, but the outrageous price of his favorite champagne. Yes, it is better, but still....an expense. But, he gave on some of my "must haves." Soo, it is a give and take.

I would say have the champagne toast if it means a lot to you.

Sparkling wines are one of my favorites. So,we're having one, but with Cava instead of champagne. Cava is a lot cheaper, sweeter and the one we're getting is pink! Don't order enough champagne to fill everyone's glass. Only enough to have a third of the glass filled.

Go for the plastic champagne flutes if you can afford them. I asked my caterer the same question and they insisted that we have glass flutes. The rest of the drinks other than wine and water will be served in plastic cups.

    That's my two cents!

We used plastic champagne glasses, I ordered them from ebay and they were really nice. I had real china at my wedding but it costs too much to rent them from the caterer. We used verdi for the toast instead of champagne. Its ALOT cheaper.
