So we have narrowed it down to 3 meat options. We can only serve 2 meat options. I have my heart set on the short ribs. So chicken or fish? So since we are serving short ribs, as a guest, which would you prefer? Would you be more impressed by Salmon?

Salmon or Chicken Madeira?

*There is also a Vegetable Lasagna that is offered to guests as an alternative to meat.

I wanted to post this last night, but we all know how that was.

As a resident of the Pacific northwest, I have to put my vote in for salmon! We aren't serving chicken at our wedding and I don't think it's a big deal. Plus salmon is healthy and always delicious!

Personally, I love salmon! We had fish at our wedding (buffet) and it was very good. Chicken just seems so common to me.

Chicken is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. I don't think people see it as the "cheap" option like maybe they used to, so I would base your decision on what you think your guests would like, and not what you think comes off as more impressive.

I think I'm just done catering to picky eaters - if you only like chicken, go eat off the kid's menu.

People eat chicken every day. Go with the short ribs and the salmon.

So don't cater to picky eaters. Pick what you want and just leave it at that. Why give anyone an option if you feel they deserve the kid menu?

I always lean chicken. I have a lot of friends that don't eat red meat. I worry about people who don't each seafood.

That being said I love fish.

I think you misunderstood me, this isn't even my question. Smiley smile I'm doing a buffet full of elk that people are psyched about. I just think it's funny when people only like chicken (which you have to admit is the palette of a younger human), and it sounds like OP was stressed about offering something for those few people, but I don't think it's worth stressing about.

I'd like salmon, but I'd offer the crowd pleaser of chicken.

I love salmon but I'd say go with whatever you thought tasted better. I'd rather the food be really awesome than just different if that makes sense.

I think there are a few other brides facing my same dilemma. There will be a kids menu, but I'm only serving that to children. So if someone doesn't like Salmon or Short Ribs, would the veggie lasagna be adequate?

Someone mentioned whether or not it was a buffet. It is a plated dinner.

You're practically my neighbor! I'd say chicken, but I hate fish Smiley smile

That said, I don't think chicken madiera sounds like a cheap option. I love chicken with wine sauces.

I would rather have salmon too, but unless i know the salmon is fresh, i probably wouldn't order it. I've had other fish at weddings, and it's been terrible. Stick to chicken.

Were doing salmon and chicken lol. I love salmon, so I would go with that! If people don't like short ribs then they can have the veggie lasagna.

I don't like most fish or most beef, so I would go with the chicken. That being said, if you picked the salmon, I would just have the veggie lasagna and be perfectly happy.

Coming from someone who doesn't like fish, ribs or lasagna I would be starving. If those were my only options I would settle for the lasagna.

I would sub out the ribs and serve chicken and salmon. Everybody wins.
