RSVPs: How Long After the Date Would You Accept Late Responses

Leslie, on September 13, 2013 at 4:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

I set the RSVP date to 9/15 with a few short that I haven't received yet. How many days past the due date would you accept responses?

I gave about 2-3 days after the due date before I started calling.

I purposely made my date a Wednesday so I could call them super early on that Sunday...evil I know but what can you do?

I started calling and emailing a week before the date, so I had 90% finalized the day of my RSVP date.

However, a few people were unsure due to work schedules or spouses not being able to come. I made sure I had hard numbers within 1 or 2 guests a month before the wedding.

I will admit, I was a bit of a tyrant when it came to RSVP's, but all my vendors loved that I had accurate numbers when it was time to pay my final amounts and give them my numbers.

I accepted responses all the way up to the day I had to give my venue the final headcount. I started calling people four or five days after my RSVP date.

I will be calling, texting, or facebooking everyone who does not respond on September 22 (the RSVP due date is the 21st) and will message them every day until I hear...people should have the decency to tell me yes or no

I will call and chase people for three days after that due date. And then I'm taking my handy pen and scraaaaatching them off. They can come to my ten year renewal.

If i haven't heard by october 6th (RSVP date is october 5th), then i will begin calling/texting. if i don't get ahold of them all within 3 days, then i won't plan on them being there.

Once the due date hits, I'd call the next day. But, honestly, it would depend. We're getting married the same day, and my due date was October 1st, and I don't even need the final number until two weeks before the wedding. Obviously I don't want stragglers but if I had a few come in a week later with your early RSVP date, I would probably be fine with it, they're people I wanted at the wedding anyway!

I gave people an extra week to respond in the mail. Then I started following up. Since I didn't have to submit a number to a caterer (no plated meal) I gave up until 2 weeks before.

We set out date 9/15 as well. So far I am missing over half of our RSVPs!!! I'm going to give a few days extra before I start calling!

I will start calling 5 days after the due date (if I can wait that long haha) because I know it takes a while to mail something from CA to VA. Then i'll accept responses until the catering headcount deadline - after that too bad, so sad.

I set the due date about two weeks before the venue needed the final head count. I waited 2 or 3 days after the RSVP due date to contact people since some people mail it on the due date. I tracked everyone down before the venue due date.

Our due date is Monday the 16th. I'll start contacting people on Wednesday. The absolute latest anyone could RSVP yes is the 27th; our final count is due on the 28th.
