Red shoes with my dress? Bad Idea?

Actually, now that I think about it, I wore red shoes in my "fake marriage" to FH (we did an April Fool elopement prank last year). I think if I hadn't worn them, more people would have been suspicious. :p



Seriously, like everyone says, brightly colored shoes look awesome with a white or ivory dress--I think you'd only regret not wearing them.

I think it's an awesome idea, I love the photos where the bride has a colorful shoes, looks so cool.

I am so doing the color shoes!!! I am wearing a white heel for down the isle....but for the recepetion I am wearing a bright pink flatt! I think you can find compromise with your family because my family wasn't happy with the pink shoes down the aisle! =]]

I'm planning on red shoes with my dress. Also red manicure. I want a little pop.

Sharon: I LOVE those shoes. I have a pair that are very similar in style/material/color--wore them with a black dress to my cousin's wedding last year, actually. They match my hair. :p

I have my heart set on wearing red shoes with my dress too, I'm just having a hard time finding a pair that I really love.

Going back to my days in the fashion biz, we were always taught that your shoe color should match the hem of your dress or your hosiery.

That being said, it is a personal choice. LOL! Personally, I would not do red with a white or ivory dress.

Um.................... FABULOUS idea! i am wearing purple shoes because thats my color, and well, because its my wedding and i love the idea! i have seen pictures of it and they look so awsome, its so fun and i love the the added touch of color and personality! go for it!

If my shoes had to match the hem of my dress, I couldn't never wear the fabulous red shoes i have with my black pencil skirt that is killer!

YOU want to wear red shoes... YOU WEAR RED SHOES! =) I think you'll regret if you don't!!! Perhaps you can compromise and buy a "traditional" pair of shoes for the ceremony, and wear the red ones for your reception. Your wedding day should be a reflection of your personality. Too often family members are caught up on "what's acceptable" or "too non traditional". But, I say, "says who????" =)

Latest Trend is to wear brilliant shoes be they of color, sparkly or have monograms on the bottom! Family will usually have something controversial to say, this I am not sure why... the memories of planning your wedding ideally would be supportive and fun with no one stressing about your creative and innovative ideas! The photos will be fabulous with your RED Shoes! Have Fun!

I'm with Sharon--I wear brightly colored shoes with neutrals all the time.

Ha. My friends and family said the same thing - "you'll regret it" - when i told them I wanted to wear orange shoes. But for me (I'm an artist) I LOVE the subtle touch of color. DO IT! Plus...they people that have told me I'd regret it are not up with the latest wedding style/fashions. It's a common thing now and I think it looks awesome. Make it your special day!
