real or fake rings on your ring bearer pillow?

Abby, on April 24, 2012 at 4:49 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 39

I'm getting married THIS Friday and it just occured to me that I never even considered having my nephew carry fake rings. He's 7 and a goof ball but is very excited to carry the rings down the aisle. He says it's a very important job. He's not just the little brother not, he's a big brother, that makes him responsible. Or so he says.

So, it got me thinking what are you ladies doing for your ring bearer? Real or fake?

My ring bearer will be JUST turning 5 (my son). I don't see him being any less of a nut in the next few months so he will be carrying FAKE rings LOL.

I think a 7 year old can handle the real deal tho

Ours were fake, we gave the rings to the MOH and BM to carry! The RB didn't even know the difference, (although he was only 3)! I just wouldn't take a chance.

Marjorie- I'm gonna use real rings. I trust him. He such a good kid. My nephews and nieces all know how to behave, especially around me. They call me the warden but call me whenever they want expensive things mom and dad won't buy bc they know I will buy it as long as they know how to behave.

I think 7 years old is perfectly fine for real rings. It is not like he is going to be in charge of them the entire morning. Have someone give him the pillow right before he walks down the aisle.

My nephew is 6 and I am going to have him carry the real thing...He is not going to get the pillow until he is ready to walk down the aisle..so they will be in the view of everyone in the bridal party anyways at that point in time

My son is 6 so no, he will get fake rings. Plus he tends to run when he sposed to be walking. But if you trust him then do the real deal! Go for it.

Kali, that's cute. We are doing ring pops for out seating assignment. I hole punched the package and tied tags that look like luggage tags on them to put their name on.

Hmmm, I'm kind of surprised by the responses. I can understand if they will have full responsibility for the rings. My son will almost be 2 , we are tying them to a ribbon around a teaddy bears neck that he will be given right before he walks down the aisle and our BM will get them off of the bear when our son reaches that point. I'm not worried at all.

Our son will be two and he's getting the real ones. Yes he's little and will be in charge of two rings that total more than 3,000$ but I will NOT put them on the pillow until the last possible second!! LOL

FH is making a small box, instead of the standard pillow. Our ring bearer will be almost 7 at our wedding and very responsible. He'll be getting the real rings.

My son is 8, so we are letting him carry down the real rings.

I had not thought about that myring bearer will be 8 by my wedding, but very irresponsible! I didn't consider him carrying rings at all, He was just gonna have the pillow, lol. But i guess that is his job, should I give him some fake rings, but knowing him they will be rolling on the floor and he would be chasing them?
