real or fake rings on your ring bearer pillow?

I'm getting married THIS Friday and it just occured to me that I never even considered having my nephew carry fake rings. He's 7 and a goof ball but is very excited to carry the rings down the aisle. I'm getting married THIS Friday and it just occured to me that I never even considered having my nephew carry fake rings. He's 7 and a goof ball but is very excited to carry the rings down the aisle. He says it's a very important job. He's not just the little brother not, he's a big brother, that makes him responsible. Or so he says.

So, it got me thinking what are you ladies doing for your ring bearer? Real or fake?

A 3-year-old RB looked at all the people looking at him, decided he would NOT walk down the aisle, so he threw the ring pillow in the general direction of the groom, and turned & ran away. Fortunately, they were fake rings because we were on a beach!

Heavenly, if you tie them whether real or fake to the pillow they shouldn't be rolling around the floor. Unless he is mischevious and unties them.

Lol, Abbey, unfortunately, he is very curious and would probably untie them to see why they were tied on, lol

Fake. Don't make me tell you my worst ring story; it involves a 7 year old, a beach and a metal detector.

Luckly Cecilia my wedding isn't on a beach. If it were, I would probably do fake to be safe.

If you trust him then give him the real ones. I would just have an adult hold onto them until right before he goes down the aisle (just to be on the safe side) Smiley smile

Real rings! Our son is 10 so I trust him completely! Plus he said only babies carry fake rings!

Ok, I thought about it, I will tie fake rings on the pillow, and give him strict instructions not to go chasing after them if he drops them. I can see him crawling under chairs trying to find them. I may need to send him down the aisle with fg, his more mature 6 year old sister, lol.

My son didn't have a pillow, he actually escorted me down the aisle. But at 8 years old, he was the only other person standing up with us (we didn't have a wedding party) and he held onto our real rings for us in his tux. I was a little nervous, I'll admit, but he did a wonderful job.

Heavenly, at least it would bring some comedy to the wedding. We have 7 kids in our wedding party so, we expect chaos.

Jennifer- cute. My 11 year old niece is walking my down. I'm glad he did a good job.

If I were having a ring bearer, I would let him carry our real rings. They would be properly tied (with a double knot) to the pillow right before he walks down the aisle, and no sooner. Any child that I'm even willing to let be in my wedding would be able to make it down without a major problem. What's the purpose of a ring bearer then?

The one exception to that may be a beach wedding...

I've seen both fake rings and real rings on the ring bearer's pillow many times. If you choose to use the real rings, have a responsible bridesmaid give the pillow to the ring bearer only when he is to start walking down the isle. Have the best man immediately remove the rings from the pillow once down the isle.

I've had more issues with best men/maid of honor wearing the rings to avoid loosing them, then getting them stuck on their finger.
