Random things you're paranoid about

FutureLivi, on May 9, 2017 at 11:24 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 68

As my wedding date quickly approaches, I find myself worrying about the most random hypothetical situations. Yesterday, I couldn't stop worrying about potentially having a cold sore on my wedding day! I get them once or twice a year and they always blister and look hideous.

I typically get one in the winter months, and one in the summer months.

What random things do you fear will happen on your wedding day?

I know it's bad practices to obsess over things that haven't happened and likely won't, but I can't be alone on this.

I'm extremely clumsy and have notoriously weak ankles (16 years of gymnastics will do that to a person), so I have a constant fear that I will be in a boot on my wedding day! I haven't been in a boot for 5 years, but every time I trip (probably 2-3 times a week) the thought flashes into my mind. Just 4 days away and I'm boot free though?!

I get cold sores too when I get stressed, and I also break out. I'm nervous that I will be stressed and my skin will freak out.

We want an outdoor ceremony and we have a back up plan if it rains, but I am unreasonably terrified it will rain. I have basically already convinced myself it will rain, so if it is sunny I won't be sad. Logical? No.

@K I do the same thing. Prepare for the worse, hope for the best! You have a back up plan, you'll be good to go. @erin only four days, you got this!

I have either stress eczema or psoriasis on my scalp and am currently stressing myself out about developing some before the wedding. Thankfully I have some topical meds left from my derm up north, but since moving I haven't found time to find a derm down here I like. Ugh.

My biggest fear is the weather holding up. I know that's silly but September is usually hurricane season and I've seen last September where it would rain like cats and dogs at 1pm and on that same day at 5pm be sunny like the rain never happened lol

Being a nurse for a long time I am used to holding my pee for long hours. I am paranoid to am going to blow it up in the middle of the service. Hence no coffee after 8am and no mimosas after 11 am for my 1:30 wedding.

I go to the doctor next week, and after talking with some friends who also get cold sores, I'm going to ask about medicine that I can take if I start to get one. It'll give me such peace of mind.

I didn't even think about cold sores. I would die.

FMIL wants to invite FH grandfather that never speaks to the family and has caused a lot of hurtful drama. She only wants to do it out of respect which I understand. My main fear is that he will accept and cause drama at the wedding.

I was terrified of peeing in my dress too, Svetlana! Almost to the point where I dehydrated myself. Two weeks before my wedding I went out for drinks with friends, drank a bit too much, laughed too hard, and peed myself. Slightly mortifying! And I was convinced it would happen at the wedding too. It did not, thankfully. I got married at 12,000 feet on top of a mountain and was also paranoid that a guest would get altitude sickness. I kept harassing everyone with water bottles. No water for me though, no peeing allowed!

I had to lose 5-7 pounds because my dress didn't fit and because of the back, letting it out was not an option. I lost ten and it fits beautifully. Now I'm afraid I'm going to gain it back, so I'm being ridiculously cautious about what i'm eating. It's been so hard- graduations and birthday parties equal delicious cake and I've had to turn it all down.

UGH coldsores are my biggest fear too. I do take meds for them and my doctor told me to take the medicine even if I don't have one starting 5ish days before the wedding to keep them at bay. Here's hoping it works!

I'm worried about my shoes killing me while I'm trying to concentrate on marrying FW. I've been walking around and standing in them to get them broken in.

Oh yes peeing is another issue too! I have a ball gown, but my venue has a separate bathroom for the bridal party to use. So, I'm probably just going to get butt naked to pee haha.

I agree with what's been listed by OP and others! I have to add PMS/the period and someone stepping on my strapless dress resulting in it plopping off me when walking down the aisle (leaving me standing in my underwear!). Yeah I get paranoid easily..hah.

First wedding - I forgot to take off my engagement ring and move it to the other hand before my dad walked me down the aisle. My ring was very tight on my hand, and here I was standing at the altar trying to concentrate on what was being said, and still get my ring OFF my resistant hand and over to the other hand without any drama. I don't know HOW I did it, but I did.

This time? I'm worried about a blizzard. Our date is the 15th anniversary of our first date (due to a blizzard). Lightening couldn't strike twice, could it?????
