Price Per Plate??

How much is your food for the reception per plate? We are having a buffet style with 4 entree options. Chicken, beef, fish, and vegetarian. It comes out to $19.95 a plate. I was just curious if that is a decent price or not.

We are doing a buffet, it includes 2 passed Hors d’ Oeuvres and 1 display platter during cocktail hour, then for dinner--Choice of TWO (2) Salads, Choice of TWO (2) Entrées, Choice of ONE (1) Carving Station , and Choice of TWO (2) Sides, plus coffee, tea and water. That's $87pp before tax. We are deciding which bar package we will do, either open bar which is an additional $22.50pp or host bar, where at the end of the night we pay for what guests drank, which will probably end up being cheaper for us based on the number of drinkers we have, etc. I am in metro Atlanta, Georgia.

Ours is at a discounted rate (for a Friday and for knowing some people) and ours is $102/pp, thats including tax and also includes premium open bar, the venue space itself, tables, chairs, DOC, cake, and some other stuff I can't think of right now. Also we have a tonnnnnnnn of food for cocktail hour and the guests get to choose between a beef, chicken, fish, pork, shrimp, or vegetarian option as an entree. For our area (NY) its hard to find anything lower than $100/pp. (I wanna move!).

That is an amazing price! Here in Southern NY we are paying $175-$200 per person. I would take that price and run Smiley smile

Assuming the food is good, you're getting a good price.

We're paying almost double for brunch!!
