Plus size brides- chub rub remedies for wedding day?

JessieLensherr, on July 13, 2016 at 4:38 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 56

Hey ladies. Curious what plus sized brides have done or will do to prevent dreaded chub rub on the wedding day? I'm going to wear some comfy lacy bike shorts(sounds weird but they will be under dress and will help a ton), also planning on a bustier or longline strapless bra with a dusting of lush's silky underwear all over! Haha Smiley smile

Target has some thin shorts specifically to prevent chaffing. They're pretty cheap too. I have a pair that I love.

    Bandelettes.

They are amazing, inexpensive and work like a CHARM. Plus they're pretty.

Spanx or bandalettes. I had one pair of bandalettes though that sucked and another that worked really well.

DEODORANT. I use deodorant on my inner thighs, and under my behind to avoid chaffing. I carry most of my weight in my thighs so it's a must.

I use baby powder. It's inexpensive and works like a charm for me.

I wore rago shapewear that goes to right above my knee. It only comes in lacy white or nude so it made the wedding part easy. I like it better than Spanx.

I could have done Bodyglide, which is what I use while running, but I had a mermaid gown and the thought of trying to hike that up every few hours to reapply was not appealing.

Spanx for sure to create a barrier even though my dress is loose on the bottom and I don't need them for their shaping purposes.

I use deodorant, my sister wears shorts, mom uses cornstarch (she doesn't like baby powder and she assures us its a different tub than what she uses in the kitchen). clearly this is a family issue.

how have I never heard of bandalettes?

I love jockey skimmies and plan on wearing those. I tried deodorant and other stuff while wearing dresses, but I end up back with the skimmies. They are comfortable and lightweight.

I'm trying to find a pair of shorts because of how hot it gets. I've never heard of using deodorant other than under the arms so that one is new to me. That really works?

Just want to chime in, I use Bodyglide. It's a little bar meant for runners to avoid chafing. it is AMAZING. No sticky skin. It's perfection.

When I run out of that, I use deodorant as well, works like a charm, but doesn't last as long as BodyGlide.

I swear by both of these things. Seriously, try it. It will revolutionize your summer.

I always wear shorts when I am wearing a skirt or dress so I will be on my wedding day as well. I need to check out those options everyone mentioned though.

    I wore Spanx.

I will second BoozyBaker's suggestion of Bodyglide. It truly is amazing, long-lasting,not greasy, and doesn't stain or stick on something. I used it EVERYWHERE when I was a runner and now that i'm starting again, I'm using it again.
