Planning Milestones - What's your wedding date?

Jazmin, on July 9, 2019 at 9:57 AM Posted in Planning 0 99
Some people choose their wedding date based on their anniversary or something special, why did you choose yours?

We ended up getting married on Easter Sunday, but it was all about the weather and trying not to get married on anybody's birthday (in case they had plans). We were getting married in the Caribbean so we chose a date before hurricane season started. It was a little complicated because Easter it's a huge holiday where we got married, i.e. I had to get my hair done 3 days before the wedding because all beauty salons would be closed on or before our wedding but we were able to work it out and it was great. Tell me the story about your wedding date.

Our date is October 12th! We both LOVE fall, October is our favorite month, and halloween is our favorite holiday! We both hate the heat, and in TN it is pretty miserable until at least October heat & humidity wise. So October was perfect! Then we just picked a date our venue had available Smiley smile

I actually just chose a random date. I knew I wanted a fall wedding and I didn’t want it to fall on anyone’s birthday month which led me to choose the date I did.

Our date is August 31, 2019! There were really 3 factors to our decision: 1) we knew we wanted an outdoor ceremony and it can be chilly here in Central PA in the spring and fall, so we wanted to stick to a month we knew the temps would be ok, 2) Availability of the venue, and 3) Our dating anniversary is also in August!

We both knew immediately we wanted to get married in the fall and in mountains, and since Breckenridge is where we took our first trip together and where he proposed it felt like the perfect spot. With FH’s birthday, a friend’s birthday, and my mom’s birthday falling the first weekend, we went with Sept 12, 2020. It also happens to be Oktoberfest, which is FH’s favorite local festival. His BM is super excited about it too- I hope they make it to the wedding 😉.

We originally wanted late September but the venue we really wanted was booked and only had 2 dates available in August. My sister lives out of state and her kids start school earlier than we do here so we decided on August 17 so she and the kids could come home without missing any school.

Our date is Nov. 9th, 2019! We actually went to the courthouse with just our parents on Nov. 9th, 2018 and got married, so we decided to do our "Wedding" on our 1 year anniversary Smiley ring

October 10th. We love fall as it's our favorite season! We didn't want to get married in Summer bc all I would be thinking of is like me sweating all my makeup off and everyone else sweating to death. Winter wouldn't work cuz we don't really like being cold. So October works Smiley smile

I wanted something in the fall so I wasn't hot. I thought **** was a fun date and went for it. It's a Saturday during Columbus day weekend so it's a great and convienant date.

We got married on a day that happened to be my best friend/maid of honor birthday.
My husband chose the date because it worked best with his schedule.

April 11, 2020. We wanted a spring wedding so I chose the weekend of my spring break. I wanted to have the week leading up to the wedding off to finish up the little things without having to take off work.

No real significance, we chose our wedding date based on convenience.

We narrowed it down to spring/fall - and I veto'd fall due to how nuts it gets (birthdays, school starting, holidays, weddings, etc.). April was cheaper than the beginning of wedding season.. and from there process of weekend elimination!
