We ended up getting married on Easter Sunday, but it was all about the weather and trying not to get married on anybody's birthday (in case they had plans). We were getting married in the Caribbean so we chose a date before hurricane season started. It was a little complicated because Easter it's a huge holiday where we got married, i.e. I had to get my hair done 3 days before the wedding because all beauty salons would be closed on or before our wedding but we were able to work it out and it was great. Tell me the story about your wedding date.

Yes!!! Especially because we weren't originally long distance in the beginning and after about a year we were! In May it will be 3 years long distance for us!! I am sure you can understand how rewarding it is!!! We are getting married near my hometown! He is from southern IL and I am from northern IL. He is currently in east TN! After trying to accommodate to his family, mine, and his current living situation, we decided to just go with what we wanted. A intimate place near my hometown!

I totally understand. We met in the US while I was getting my master's, after 1.5 years I had to go back to my country and we were in a LDR for 2.5 years, it was hard, time consuming and expensive, but absolutely worth it. I'm glad that you were able to chose a place that worked for you both. In which planning stage are you now?

OMG! What a beautiful love story! I am sure that took a lot of time, heart, and money. I am so happy you worked through it all! I am lucky I have him and an understanding family! We are 10 months out! We have the DJ, Cake, Venue, Wedding, Reception, and Photographer set! So.. whatever stage that is!!

October 12th here too. Also chosen for the weather. It is one of the most beautiful months here in the DMV. And, it was the only Saturday in October the venue we chose had availability.

I am VERY type A! Hahaha! Plus I am still in school and am trying to get as much done while I have some free time! Your pictures are beautiful! An outside wedding scares me!!!!! You were lucky! We are having an indoor wedding and reception. The reception venue is a year-round tent so the weather wont have that much effect on us luckily!!

Hahaha me too!! #typeAteam Smiley xd And yes, I guess we were lucky, the weather in the Caribbean is unpredictable. it actually drizzled a little, but only during the dinner so it didn't affect us at all. With an indoor wedding and reception the weather is one less thing to worry about. Do you have pictures of your venue?

I am learning that being type A makes wedding planning a breeze!! haha Honestly you are so lucky! I am sure that was beautiful! I have never traveled the Caribbean, only to Europe! Do you have any recommendations for Honeymoon spots? We wanna go the non expensive route, but still have somewhere all-inclusive! Or possibly Cabo? We aren't sure! I found this image from their website! It is kinda not good quality but you get the idea!

I love it so so so much, your wedding will be stunning. And yes, our personality type makes everything easier, we didn't even need to hire a coordinator. Regarding the honeymoon, I think the cheapest way is renting an Airbnb apartment at a nice location.

My husband and I got married in the DR (I know the media hasn't been in its favor lately but we love it) and for our honeymoon, we just went to another city and rented a loft walking distance from the beach. It was so much cheaper than a resort and we paid for the activities we wanted to do (like a massage on the beach, ziplining, visiting caves) and since there were many restaurants walking distance, we didn't need to rent a car and just walked wherever we wanted for food. We both loved the experience.

This is us at Scape Park in Punta Cana.

January 11, 2020. It's not a special date, it was mostly just convenient for us. Originally, we wanted to get married in the fall, but there is no such thing as fall in Florida Florida LOL We decided that January is a nice time weather-wise in Florida, not too cold, not too hot, just right!

Yes! Our venue is at an aviation museum! The ceremony will be outside in front of an airplane and then the reception will be held in one of the hangars, surrounded by even more aircraft Smiley smile we're both airplane fanatics, so its perfect for us!

We would have loved to get married on our anniversary but that's in December. So to not over stress with the holidays and since we are hoping for a beach ceremony, we have chosen summer months. Our date is 8/15/21. This date was chosen because it's my FH's lucky number(815). My lucky number is 3 so I'm sure we will find a way to incorporate that as well(maybe having the ceremony at 3:00)
