Some people choose their wedding date based on their anniversary or something special, why did you choose yours?

We ended up getting married on Easter Sunday, but it was all about the weather and trying not to get married on anybody's birthday (in case they had plans). We were getting married in the Caribbean so we chose a date before hurricane season started. It was a little complicated because Easter it's a huge holiday where we got married, i.e. I had to get my hair done 3 days before the wedding because all beauty salons would be closed on or before our wedding but we were able to work it out and it was great. Tell me the story about your wedding date.

That's so thoughtful. Are you having an outdoor or an indoor ceremony in August?

For one, I have always dreamed of having a fall wedding, & being in East Tennessee the heat is typically miserable until around October. But the main reason we chose our date is... We first met October 25, 2010. I had just moved back to TN after my family had been in Michigan taking care of my grandma after she had a stroke. Although my whole family is from MI, TN is & will always be our home. When my grandmother passed in December 2009, we made the decision to relocate back to TN. So in October 2010, we made it back home to TN. I was a junior in high school at the time so we went to the high school I would be attending to register me for classes. As I made my way to the guidance counselors office to sign up, the bell rang & classes began to switch. As I made my way through the now busy hallways, I heard a male's voice behind me say "Hey, you new here?" Something about that tall country boy with blue eyes reeled me in pretty quickly. We talked for a few minutes as we walked through the halls until he wished me good luck & told me he'd see me around. As luck would have it... We had numerous classes together throughout junior & senior year & he very quickly became my best friend. We didn't start dating until December 2012. Our wedding is October 26, 2019 ❤ The day of our wedding will be 9 years & 1 day to the day we met. He's literally had me from that first "hello" ❤

That's a very wise decision. We got married in Spring too. Spring can be a little rainy in some places, where are you having your wedding?

It will be outdoors. The ceremony area (photos attached) overlooks a valley and the reception area is a covered pavilion. I can't wait! 😁

Our Date is September 28, 2019. Fall is mine and FH's favorite season so we knew we wanted a fall wedding and we also wanted an outdoor ceremony. However, in Upstate NY weather is very unpredictable and there could be snow anywhere from October-April so we knew if we wanted fall we had to do beginning of fall so late September. We originally were going to do 9/21 but that is his cousins birthday and we didn't want our wedding on the same day so that's how we changed our date to 9/28. I'm actually very happy with the change because we have a pattern for all of our special dates now. We began dating 4-14-14, he proposed 7-21-17, and we are getting married 9-28-19. So the month and last digit of year for each one match.

That's great, we also eloped first, but we did it with friends and it was amazing, I actually enjoyed it a little more than our ceremony, but my husband says the opposite. How many guests are you having at your ceremony?

We aren't decorating that pergola but we are doing a rustic woods theme for the reception. We have wood, moss, lavender, eucalyptus, vintage bottles, etc. I can't wait to see it all together. 😊
