Planning Milestones: Choosing your Maid of Honor

Laura, on July 8, 2019 at 5:36 PM Posted in Planning 0 77

How did you choose who would be your Maid of Honor on your special day? Did you choose a family member? a lifelong friend? A new friend? A co-worker? A future in-law? What made them the "one" to stand with you?

I chose my niece Savannah. She's the only one I would have wanted to be up there with me. I may be 49 and she may be 27, but she's one of the best women, one of the best persons I know. She loves me more than any of my friends, and probably more than about anyone in my family (equal only to her brother)

My Matron of Honor is my older sister! I was her Maid of Honor and she's already done so much for me. My Maid of Honor is my younger sister! I knew it'd be impossible for me to choose between the two of them (even though they both would've been fine being just a guest) and I am so happy they both said YES!

That's great! My bridesmaid is my lifelong friend. She was MOH at my first wedding, and I can't imagine not having her as part of this one

I chose my oldest daughter. My other daughter said she didn’t want to do it. But she wanted to be a bridesmaids instead.

That's awesome that they're both a part of it. One of my future stepsons is giving me away. I'm touched that he wants to

My MoH is one of my absolute best friends!! We've been friends for close to 10 years now, and even though its not a requirement, I knew she would help me with all sorts of wedding planning things, just because she wanted to, so I couldn't even dream of not giving her that position.

My maid of honor is my older sister. We didn’t have the best relationship growing up, but now that we’re both older, we do get along better. I’ve always had a special relationship with my younger sister, but she’s only 17 so I knew she was happy with being just a bridesmaid.

I chose my best friend since middle school almost 15 years ( basically the sister I never had) she has been by my side through everything and she is super excited about my getting married and is already helping me so much.

I have a Matron of Honor and a Maid of Honor! My Matron of Honor is my best friend I've had since 2nd grade, and my Maid of Honor is my college best friend. I'm so excited to have them both (and my 5 other bridesmaids) stand beside me on the big day!

My MOH is my best friend of 15 years- she's been there for me in good times and in bad. She's in all of my favorite memories growing up. Plus she's a non-nonsense bad*** who won't put on crap on the wedding day lol.
