Paying cash for whole wedding?

Is anyone else paying for their wedding solely in cash? Not literally but no credit cards? We opened a joint checking account for wedding savings/payments. We previously paid all our credit cards off and refuse to pay credit for the wedding but it's so hard. We literally have to have all of our deposits saved up before we even meet with vendors we may love. I feel like there's such a risk in losing people for our date by waiting! Is anyone else doing this? Any tips to make it easier? Good news is we won't have any "wedding debt" at all after the fact. Also, we cannot use any prior savings for the wedding..only what we've saved since the engagement.

We are. I mean we are paying for stuff on our credit card to get the points/rewards but paying it off immediately as we go.

I've also been told that if you can't pay cash, you can't afford it. We are only using a credit card for our rings I believe, and maybe one other small thing. All of our major payments have been checks from our joint account!

That's exactly what we're doing! Well, we're paying for things on credit cards to gets the rewards, but paying it off immediately. Don't want to start a marriage in way more debt than we already are in with student loans. It's definitely the smart thing to do!

I put everything on our credit card because of cash back, which we must have gotten hundreds back so far. Then we pay it off pretty much immediately with our money in savings.

We put everything on credit and paid the balance off right away wanted to get those travel miles and cash back. But it's also good to have a paper trail.

We are! Just trust that the right person or vendor will be available at the right time. You're doing the smart thing and I'm proud of you! There's so many vendors these days and don't be afraid to ask if they can be flexible since it's all cash.

We did deposits on a credit card for travel points then paid once we got home. We are trying to rack up enough points to upgrade to first class tickets for the honeymoon. The remainder has to be paid by bank draft at least two weeks before. For less stress I told FH lets just pay everything when we go in for the last appointment. I've seen people take out loans or lines of credit to pay for weddings and I refuse to put myself in debt

I put things on my credit card for the purpose of getting cash back but I always pay it off as soon as the balance is loaded, so basically yeah. I'm not paying what I can't afford.

I've been using my credit card and paying it off every month without dipping into savings. I'm sure I'll have to dip into the savings when I make some final payments, but so far so good here.

I mostly put it on the credit card to avoid too many savings transfers (you get hit with a penalty if you go over the bank/federal limit) and to earn some cash back points.

We did what others have mentioned...We had the cash in our savings. Paid on the credit card to get the cash back and then then turned around and paid off the credit card in full.

We put everything on our credit card so far, but only for the cash back! We've made a few hundred dollars from this, and pay it off each statement. (All wedding money is in our savings account waiting to be used for this) Using credit wisely can be very beneficial.

No credit cards or loans. All out of our bank accounts. Smaller budget that way, but worth it to us.

Yep we're only paying cash! We say if you don't have the cash for it you can't afford it (even though you can afford the payments)
