Is anyone else paying for their wedding solely in cash? Not literally but no credit cards? We opened a joint checking account for wedding savings/payments. We previously paid all our credit cards off and refuse to pay credit for the wedding but it's so hard. We literally have to have all of our deposits saved up before we even meet with vendors we may love. I feel like there's such a risk in losing people for our date by waiting! Is anyone else doing this? Any tips to make it easier? Good news is we won't have any "wedding debt" at all after the fact. Also, we cannot use any prior savings for the wedding..only what we've saved since the engagement.

Yes. I am paying with check/cash. I charged my dress and some decor items but we always pay our cards off at the end of the month. Many vendors in my area don't accept card. It would be nice to accumulate more points though!

We are using our wedding savings to pay for everything. We'll put stuff on credit cards but pay it off right away so no debt.

We had cash. We used our credit card to rack up the points and paid everything off right away out of our wedding savings account. We were happy to do it like that because we got the flights for our honeymoon solely on points from our card.

My wedding venue food, drinks, vendors (flowers, officiant, DJ, DOC, Wedding Planner, Photographer, videotographer and MUA) will all be paid in cash and I happy super happy about that!

We literally paid cash for everything. We don't use credit cards unless we absolutely have to (like checking into a hotel). I planned our wedding over the course of two years & there were a few times that we had to wait to book vendors or to buy things but, it all worked out in the end & we have no wedding debt!

I used my credit card for most payments to get the cash back but only when I have the cash to pay it off right away. It's free money so why not.

Same as some of the PP....if you have a CC with perks, it can pay off to use it! FH is incredible about using his CC and paying it completely off every month. There are a lot of positives to doing that so I encourage you to do that if possible!

We opened a joint savings account specifically for our wedding about a year before we got engaged, and we've steadily feed into it since then. We've been able to negotiate down a number of different vendors since we're not using credit, and honestly it's saved us a pretty penny. We're the only couple in either of our group of friends that didn't put everything onto a credit card--we've seen our friends struggling to pay off their wedding days for months after the event, and that's the opposite of how we wanted to begin our married life.

Cash only here. FH and I agreed that we will never go into debt for anything but life necessities (and a mortgage if that counts). My parents plan to pay us back, but we want to be 100% fine even if something happened and they don't.

We're using credit cards for the cash back rewards. I never put anything on there that I don't have the money to pay off immediately.

Lyla - What are your parents paying you back for? Your wedding? That's odd. It's good you're planning for what only you guys can afford, but this still sounds odd to me. Usually if parents/anyone wants to help pay for the wedding, they gift the money during the wedding process, not after the fact.

Cash money! No debt and being economical with choices. No need to spend $30,000.00 on one day.
