Overdone and over it?

What trends, elements, themes, decorations, etc., are you so tired of seeing at weddings? I keep seeing articles about wedding trends that need to "die" or themes that are overdone. So I want to hear what you all are totally over seeing at weddings. I haven't been to many weddings so I love to hear...

Wood signs with "cute" little sayings

    Cowboy boots with bridesmaid dresses

Photo booths with those dumb little hats and mustaches you hold up in front of you

I don't even think chalkboards are tacky. I just don't like them. So don't assume peoples feelings on things and make it more than what it is. Doing what you just did is how feelings get hurt for no reason. Every thread is unnecessary in the world of google and feelings get hurt all the time here. Should we just take down WW then?

@Olivia YES!! I can't stand those mustaches!! On anything. On glasses, as a wine stopper, as a tattoo, as a prop. I can't stand them. If I go to a party with those mustaches on the glass I will rock that thing but on the inside I'll die a little with each sip

Nothing really, people spend a lot of time and money planning their weddings. I for one haven't attended many weddings to dislike something so unimportant like rustic, personalized napkins and themes that I feel they are overdone or need to die. I go to weddings to support the couple, have a great time, eat, drink and enjoy the company. The decorations, themes, style is just a reflection of the couples preference, not really something for me to judge because it does not affect whatsoever and I am not an expert on trends, nor do I care to be apart of the trends.

The burlap and lace thing. It's so unoriginal at this point. And the damn cowboy boots. Unless you live on a farm--you don't need them. And the little kids with the signs.

I also cant stand anything where guests have to take out their wallet at a wedding, or the couple is asking for money. No matter how cute the sign or how clever the wording it is not ok!

This is probably just me but, Disney themes, Disney honeymoons, basically anything Disney. I cringe when I see people post about Disney honeymoons, are you an adult or a 6 year old girl?

'Pick a seat not a side' signs. I find them rude.

@Janz to some people that is what they can afford to do is go to Disney. Actually there are quite a few adult things you can do there. My FH and I are going to DL Paris for one day of our honeymoon.

EDIT: @JJ that sign is asking straight out for money?? Wow......

Maybe it's just me but I don't care enough about other people's wedding decor to really have an opinion about it. People pick things for their weddings because they like them, and that's perfectly fine with me. If someone is happy with their decor who am I to judge?

'Like we're not disagreeing about important things such as guest comfort and properly hosting, this thread is purely bashing people's stylistic choices.'

That is indeed what this tread is about. So? Doing it to someone's face is rude, doing it anonymously without mentioning specific people's weddings, on an internet forum, is not

Photo booths and speeches, DJs trying to be funny when they are not (dance contest for the bouquet instead of a toss for example)

@Natalie - how can you honestly say that it's not rude just because we're hiding behind a computer and not saying it directly to a person's face? That makes no sense. I get that we're not mentioning SPECIFIC weddings....but this is a wedding forum....so a lot of the things people are bashing on are things real people have in their weddings.

@Rebecca, I took @Janz' comment as talking about adults who are obsessed with Disney. Nothing wrong with going to Disneyworld/land, but going nuts over getting an autograph from a person dressed up as a cartoon character is just childish. I don't get adults who are obsessed with things from their childhood/teenage years like Disney, Harry Potter, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love those things too and I listen to/sing Disney songs more often than I'd like to admit, but I find it odd that some adults are about all things Disney all the time. Those super themed weddings come across as kids birthday parties. It's just super childish.

@Catti " I cringe when I see people post about Disney honeymoons, are you an adult or a 6 year old girl?" that is Janz's quote. Are you an adult or a 6 year old when it comes to a Disney honeymoon.

For some people that is what they want to do and it has nothing to do with age. My MOH and her husband went to DisneyWorld for their honeymoon because they could afford it, it was closer and her husband had never been. And he sure as hell isn't a 6 year old girl.
