Overdone and over it?

What trends, elements, themes, decorations, etc., are you so tired of seeing at weddings? I keep seeing articles about wedding trends that need to "die" or themes that are overdone. So I want to hear what you all are totally over seeing at weddings. I haven't been to many weddings so I love to hear...

I can't understand why the wedding cake is not served after the cutting, I mean it looks so decadent but no,guests will never be able to tell if it tastes as good as it looks. Is this tradition or they just forgot?

Also, wedding coordinators that forces the brides men and bridesmaids to have a dance number. Or any of those cringey games they have for single ladies and guys during reception.

What else, destination wedding and the bridesmaid are expected to pay for everything. I mean I might be able to pay for my tickets but more often than not in the past, I paid for my dress, my make up , and then there's the bridal shower etc. It's just too expensive to be a bridesmaid . just my opinion Smiley smile

Mmmmm, I detest chair covers and I'm over mason jars.... but my cousin's rustic wedding totally suited her and her hubby and my BFF is totally the sort of person who will ROCK a flower crown for her wedding.

I know that I'll end up overdoing the nerdy elements of my wedding, but hopefully the comfortable seating and plentiful food and drink will make up for that.

I love the rustic, love the mason jars, love burlap and my big day will have a ton of them all!

But I am not a big fan of dark purples, pastel pinks, or yellow color themes.

I know a lot of people have them, but I just don't understand why a "wedding program" is needed. How hard to follow is "ceremony, small food with lower music, more food with dancing" ??

Rustic weddings are so popular where I live. They've been a thing for literally the last 10 years and everyone in my area is like need burlap, rustic stuff, etc. like why do you want your wedding to be like everyone else's? Be original damn it

The signs of the little kids holding the sign down the aisle. Like too late to run. Jesus- if you don't want to get married- don't

Barn/rustic. I can't see another rundown barn with patio lights strung across the beams again.

Our wedding is in a barn, so we have the mason jars.

But I think a lot of people have the naked cakes and I love my frosting.

    - Posting wedding details or reminders to send in RSVPs on social media

    - Bridesmaids in cowboy boots unless it's completely authentic to the couple (I was in a wedding a couple years ago where the bride told us to wear heels and her sister showed up in cowboy boots because she thought they were cool ugh)

    - Playing only one style of music your who reception and when you have a mixed crowd (I have a cousin who played nothing but Disney songs for her ENTIRE reception and was upset no one danced)

    - Having an open mic for speeches (I enjoy listening to funny stories and speeches for about 20 minutes and then I'm ready to move on)

    - I personally hate anything camo and hunting-related, but that's just me

    - Receiving lines at weddings with more than 50 people (if I have to wait in line longer than 10 minutes just to say hi, then I'll be a very unhappy camper by the time I get up to you)

    - Corny, sexist, awkward signage

    - Formal taffeta bridesmaids dress (I'd wear it if a good friend asked, but I'd hate it and even more so I'd hate paying for it)

    - Chair covers (I don't get the appeal)

    - As much as I love "Thinking Out Loud," "A Thousand Years," and "All of Me," and totally understand why they're so popular, I'm tired of hearing everyone and their cousin use them

No offense, by the way, to anyone who does any of these. Obviously we're all different.

I think what everyone is forgetting is the fact that for a lot of people this is their one chance to do everything they want and like. Unless they do a vow renewal or get remarried, this is the only wedding they will have the chance to do.

As I read what everyone is just completely over with, it makes me feel a little deflated as a handful of the things that are being listed are the things I am doing and was very excited about. (I will pull up my big person panties and get over it, but just reminding people to be a little sympathetic)
