What trends, elements, themes, decorations, etc., are you so tired of seeing at weddings? I keep seeing articles about wedding trends that need to "die" or themes that are overdone. So I want to hear what you all are totally over seeing at weddings. I haven't been to many weddings so I love to hear...

Mmbrake, just own what you like. No need to get offended when people don't like the same things you do. I had a flower crown, a blush dress and some chalkboard signs, but my feelings aren't hurt by internet strangers who don't like those things. I see nothing wrong with this thread.

@Rebecca, she also said, "This is probably just me but, Disney themes, Disney honeymoons, basically anything Disney."

I read the post as a whole and formed my interpretation based on that.

'how can you honestly say that it's not rude just because we're hiding behind a computer and not saying it directly to a person's face?'

There have been several things mentioned on here that I had at my wedding. I'm not offended, some people are over it, some people like it, big deal.

@ Rebecca "For some people that is what they want to do and it has nothing to do with age. My MOH and her husband went to DisneyWorld for their honeymoon because they could afford it, it was closer and her husband had never been. And he sure as hell isn't a 6 year old girl."

If you can afford Disney, you could afford a lot of other things. San Diego? SF? LA? A one day pass to Disney is over $100/ea. You could rent a cute room on a beach for that. Your reasoning isn't sound here. If you like disney, that's fine, but don't act like it's that cheap that no one could possibly do something else.

@AK They went to Disney World not Disneyland. It is much cheaper to get vacation packages for 4 days there when you are less than a 5 hour drive away. Coming to SF or SD would have cost them a small fortune. They got an off season package for 4 days at a moderate resort with breakfast. It cost them less than $100 a day each for the package.

This week? It's got to be weirdly sexualizing ring bearers.... idk the more I see this the more it bothers me. What if flower girls did this?

One more, because I'm just in a mood today. How about ANYTHING to do with suggesting the groom or the bride is somehow trapped into this marriage. Like ball and chain related stuff. I just don't see the humor, I guess. I keep seeing these cake toppers and I can't even imagine.

This is why WW is so interesting and thousands of people join. It is an outlet to get and share information, get advice, show off things you made/bought, your personal pics, express your opinions, agree, disagree, laugh, cry, get mad, get annoyed, get happy. This is a forum and you choose what you read and what you write. Sometimes all it takes is looking at the subject of the post to know what youre about to read. Yeah, some people troll to get a reaction. Still, YOU choose what you read and if it offends you, step out.

I'm from Mississippi so I know these rustic themes all too well. I am trying to stay far away from jars, burlap, chalkbord signs, and cowgirl boots. I feel like it is way over done in my area.

I honestly don't think the "bashing" is "rude" (and I'm a pretty sensitive Sally). A bunch of people mentioned how ugly carpet in a ballroom is. We're getting married in a ballroom with carpet. I'm not offended, and it's not rude. The carpet IS ugly... *shrugs*

At the end of this thread EVERYBODY's wedding gets a space on the overdone list. We ROCK!!! My comment put someone's wedding on the list and goodness knows I am on the list several times now. You gotta laugh at it all.

Back to planning my overdone wedding. 29 days to go...

My new goal in life is to incorporate all of these things posted in my wedding so my BAM will cause WW to self destruct. back to the drawing board. gotta get me like 10 miles of burlap and lace. and set up a honey fund. switch it all to a cash bar. make a hundred signs.
