Our June 20th wedding, should we postpone?

Jennifer, on April 22, 2020 at 1:47 PM Posted in New York Planning 0 2
So our wedding is on June 20th.. I’m hoping with the recent progress so far June 20th is far enough away for things to be getting back to normal. So I’m planning as normal. Any other June 20th brides postponing?

    Hi, and welcome!

NYC has canceled all public events through the end of June. I would take this to mean that any large gatherings will be banned, or at least discouraged. I don't know what part of NY you're in, but since Cuomo hasn't contradicted DiBlasio... at the very least, NYC will have restrictions, quite possibly some or all of upstate. We are edging past the peak... but we're not close to being through, yet.

I'd strongly encourage you to have a Plan B in place, as you are getting so close. If you don't need to use it, great! If you do... then you'll have it.

    Hi Jennifer,

I'm sorry you have to think about postponing your wedding. It's a tough spot right now because there are so many unknowns.

Have you contacted your venue? I agree with the PP. It could be comforting to discuss a plan B in the near future. Also, you are not alone. Here are three other discussions with June brides, including some with the same wedding date of June 20th:

If you decide to postpone, I'm hoping you can create a back-up wedding plan that you love! Smiley heart
