October brides where are you honeymooning??

Christina, on July 10, 2019 at 4:35 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 65
My FH and I are struggling to agree on a honeymoon location! We were looking at going somewhere tropical (I’ve never seen chrystal clear water) without breaking the bank! So do we take the risk and go to the Bahamas or Caribbean or anywhere else or do we just stay in the states? I’ve been looking at cruises (also something I’ve never done) so we can see more than one place, but peak hurricane season has everyone worried! What do I do? Where are you going?! 😊

We are going on a Royal Carribbean Cruise! Wedding is 10/12 and we are leaving on cruise 10/14! Total cost for both of us, with a spacious room with its own balcony, food included, is 1,100!

FH and I really wanted to go out of the country, but decided to hold off on that as a “second honeymoon” and are planning to visit Asheville NC the week after our wedding on 10/5. That way we still get to go somewhere but we can plan somewhere tropical during a better season

We are taking the risk and going to Jamaica this September. We got the travel insurance so it should be okay.

Honestly, Oct is the best time for international travel (big reason I picked Oct to get married). We are planning to go to Bangkok Thailand for a few days and then fly to Bali Indonesia for the last leg of our honeymoon (60 dollar flight). I've seen flights in Oct around 600 roundtrip from Atlanta and to stay in both places is extremely cheap! I'm talking 30 a night and still get treated like royalty while having your own private beach. Just have to know the right time to book. What makes it better, I got a travel credit card so I've been racking up points so we can go first class!

It is hurricane season but that may mean cruise prices are cheaper. They will also change their itinerary if there is a hurricane. You can also purchase travel insurance so if there is one and you want to cancel you can. Would you consider holding off on your honeymoon to avoid hurricane season? You can get good deals on December (as long as it’s not around the holiday). I’m doing a honeymoon cruise in April and can’t wait, they are so much fun.

We’re actually thinking of Thailand too! They are very affordable and the all-inclusive resorts look beautiful.

We are getting married 10/5 and going to Aruba 2 days later. It still has the crystal blue waters I long for but is outside the hurricane belt so we are taking way less of a risk. We thought of going to Turks and Caicos which is one of the Caribbean islands I want to deeeeesperately go to but we decided not to take the chance. If you do travel to the Caribbean, chances are you'll be fine. Just pay for descent travel insurance and have a plan b ready.

I suggested taking our honeymoon later but the FH says “then it will just feel like a vacation, not a honeymoon” so he wants to leave the day after.

We're getting married 10/19 and delaying our honeymoon until 1/5. Going to a resort on Oahu! I think a delayed honeymoon is the best option, regardless of where, because spacing out pto often means you can get a little more time!

Orlando! We are debating driving or flying (from Nasvhille) but someone on here recommended a site with cheap flights that I can't remember the name of at the moment and I found round trip tickets for both of us for 300 total

I understand that, I wanted to leave the following day but my FHs work schedule won’t allow for that.

We're staying in state. We're going to Frankenmuth MI for a week. It's a year-round Christmas town. The Hallmark channel is actually getting ready to film a Christmas movie ithere

We are waiting to honeymoon over Christmas break so we can send his daughter to stay with mom (we have her during the school year). Unfortunately, it means we'll be paying a premium for holiday travel.

We are doing a mini moon in the North Georgia mountains. My FH is low of vac time so we are waiting till after January for a true honeymoon. We haven’t decided where we want to go yet, we are toying with Maldives, Mexico & Europe. We’re all over the place if you couldn’t tell. Lol

We’re doing much the same! Getting married 10/26, jetting off to Maui on 1/1. I don’t think you necessarily need to go right after but to each her own! (And to be fair, we’re doing a mini-moon right after the wedding.)

My fiance and I have changed the location of our honeymoon twice. First it was going to be Puerto Rico, but that was really expensive. Then he suggested Cancun, which was fine since I'd never been there. Last week while we were on vacation, he decided he'd rather go to Cabo. We have plenty of time to decide since the wedding isn't until October of next year, and hopefully he won't change his mind again!
