Need Help! Forgot Someone on Invitations

Rachel W., on March 21, 2012 at 9:17 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

So we forgot someone! It's one of my FH's first cousins. He rarely sees her (I've met her once in 6 years) and they are not close. She lived out of state until a couple of months ago.

So his aunt and uncle asked if we could invite her, and we felt completely stupid that she wasn't invited. We apologized profusely and they said they understood how crazy things get, but we actually can't believe we forgot her.

So my question is - how can we go about it with class? Should we send her invitation with a small bouquet of spring flowers? Should we just send it normally? Should we include a note? What is the etiquette when you forget someone????? HELP!!!!

We forgot to invite BOTH of my FHs aunts..lol I havent met them yet so honestly I didnt think of them.

When one aunt asked his step mom where her invite was he told her that we had run out of postage and were doing a second round of invites..lol

Rachel we forgot someone as well. We just called them to apologize as you did and sent them an invitation. They've already RSVP'ed and booked their hotel room.

Some people will be offended no matter what you do and some people just won't be offended. I think a normal invite will suffice.

You said it yourself: "We apologized profusely..."

You made an honest mistake, and you have adequately apologized... you are hereby absolved from any more self-inflicted guilt - shazam!
