Idk yet but most likely it'll be to an old school salsa...from their time, 70s.

I think for you since you're having a Mexican wedding something with Vicente Fernandez would be great.

My parents love Mocedades and Mecano, and they have many softer, slow songs. Luis Miguel's older ballads can be nice too. Andrea Boccelli sings his hit song in Spanish too (Por Ti Volare).

Volverte a Ver by Juanes - use the MTV Unplugged version instead of the original. It's a really pretty song that I am definitely using somewhere, perhaps for the BP entrance.

Hi Sandy!! I am having a "Mexican" wedding too, lol. How old are your parents if you don't mind me asking? Maybe that can narrow down the type of songs that they would listen to in their era. Or how about playing their wedding song? did they have one?

Pimpinela, "El Amor No Se Puede Olvidar"

    Ricardo Arjona, "El Amor"

Those are a couple that come to mind. I like Vivian's thought of having them play their wedding song.

Hi Sandy! Welcome. Yes - how old are your parents? Maybe we can narrow something down that way.

Hi there, thank you Monique for bringing me here.

First of, when saying "Mexican" what do you mean? There is Mexican "contemporary", Mexican northern (sort of like Country) and Mexican regional. Saying "mexican" is just too broad.

If you are looking for a "mexican" flavor, you can go (as suggested by others) with Vicente Fernandez or newer as Alejandro Fernandez.

Salsa would probably not be a good fit for that type of mexican genre. However, if you mean just "latin" in general, I'd look into Celia Cruz.

Remember that as parents and grandparents are being presented, the MC has to speak over the music, so the music should have a nice instrumental section and the MC has to time his delivery in those segments. It doesn't sound as good if he is calling out their names over Vicente Fernandez's loud voice.

If you just want to have a soft "mexican" Flavor, than I'd suggest an instrumental mexican Cumbia (let me know I can give you choices), this will make everyone get that 'sabor' without it being too overbearing or too "region-specific" that the audience feels disconnected.

    In short:

Tell me how "mexican" you want it to be.

The level of energy you want (1 being a smooth waltz and 10 being Tribalera... look it up)

As a suggestion, stay away from romantic songs. The romantic song during this part of the wedding should only be your first dance.

    Hope this helped some.

    Here are some Mexican Genres

    Ranchera

    Duranguense

    Banda

    Quebradita

    Tribalera (or Tribal)

    Cumbia

    Mexican Pop

    Baladas

    Nortena

    Mariachi
