My mom is out shopping for her dress, and not fidding anything because she just told me she wants to wear "wisteria" just like my BM, MOH and FG.

I told her its a lil bit too much...

I don't think it's a big deal for her to be wearing the same color, but if she's having a hard time finding something she may need to think about changing it up.

My mom wore the same color as my bp. I didn't mind, she loves red and looks good in it.

My FMIL is wearing a shade of purple and my Mother is wearing blue, each are our colors just not the exact same shade. Suggest that as an option?

My girls are wearing black.. so it wouldn't be that weird if my mom wore black, since I'm sure many guests will be wearing black. I want her to accent our colors (black, grey, and green) so that in family photos where we're holding flowers and whatnot, everything looks nice.. but without being too matchy machy Smiley smile

I felt like I didn't care so much what anyone wore as long as they came and supported my decision. I just wanted them to be comfortable.

My mother, MIL, and grandmother were all very concerned with what they wore. I think they wish I had given them more direction.

It is very traditional for a mother to wear the same color family as the wedding party though I have mostly seen it done in a slight different shade of that color. But as long as she finds a dress that doesn't match your BMs then I wouldn't worry about it.

I actually had my mom wear the opposite color of the bridal party because i thought it was going to be too much fuschia. It your preference. My mom complained and first then when she saw all us together she liked the idea she stood out.

I personally prefer for the bridal party to have a different color than the other family members. Yet, it is just my personal opinion =]

I don't think it would bother me either. To me, it doesn't matter much what the moms' wear...they are very classy women with very good sense of style.

Now trying to get my dad to buy a new suit...AGH - now that's another post!

As long as she's not trying to wear the same exact dress as your BMs (I've seen some ladies deal with this) then it's not an issue

I would have been fine with either of the mothers wearing the same color as my bridesmaids. If they didn't do the same color I just wanted them to compliment the girls I told them no pastels, more bold fall colors. They both ended up with black with sparkle details and I'm fine with they, the MOG was worried that wearing black would make it look like she was unhappy with the wedding...but I think black looks great and is flattering for both of them.

I think having your mom in a different shade than the BP is ok but she is the MOB she needs her own color I think.

I don't see a problem with her wearing the same color, but I would say it has to be a diff dress. Most weddings I have been to the mob wore the wedding colors just on a mob style dress.

My MOH's dress is black..So my mom will be wearing that too. I particularly don't care what people wear as long as they are happy and comfortable.
