Music?! What songs have you chosen?

Hi everyone! I’m in the process of narrowing down songs for key moments at our wedding in October and I’d love to hear what you’ve chosen!

Bridal party precessional, bridal precessional, recessional, first dance, F/D dance, cake cutting, bouquet toss, final song... any others? there’s so many moments and songs are so key! I love to dance and our music is being carefully curated. What have you selected?

So I have been undecided now that it’s getting closer. Even though we are having a courthouse wedding we are allowed to choose our songs.

I know for sure once we say I do our celebration song will be Happy by Pharrell
I’m deciding whether to do the traditional wedding song when I walk down or all my life by KC & JO JO and for the groom this is why I love you by Major....

We are having a Catholic Wedding so my songs are pretty set for the ceremony. But for the reception we are doing Dynamite to enter, Grow Old (First Dance), Daddy (Father/Daughter Dance), Little Guy (Mother/Son Dance), Damn Good Friends (Bridal Party Dance), Honey Bee (Cake Cutting), This One's For You ("Special Dance"). We are not having the traditional bouquet & garter toss but we are doing an anniversary dance.

I’m such a huge music fan so this would definitely be a very time consuming task for me!

I know for sure I want ‘If I should Fall Behind’ by Bruce Springsteen incorporated in to my ceremony somewhere. Maybe for the walk down the aisle!

If you’re looking for more inspiration, this WeddingWire article is super helpful and it links out to loads more - All the Wedding Songs You Need to Choose, from Processional to Last Dance.

Are there any songs you’re 100% sure you want included somewhere?

I'm not real concerned with our processional music, my DJ suggested looking into Vitamin String Quartet. They do instrumental covers of popular songs, that's usually his go to for pre-ceremony music. For the bridal processional, we'll be doing Canon in D. That might sound boring lol, but there's just something about that song that makes both me and FH emotional just thinking about it actually happening!

Haven't decided on first dance just yet, but father daughter dance will be to Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight". Other than those two songs, we have a lot of music planning to do Smiley xd

We're skipping a lot of the moment songs but our first dance will be I Choose You by Sarah Bareilles, our last song is Galway Girl by Madilyn Bailey for my Irish lady. There were several songs that had to be included, especially She Keeps Me Warm by Mary Lambert, Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Iz, and You're My Best Friend by Queen.

Oh, and I am walking in to Can't Help Falling In Love by Ingrid Michaelson, she has chosen Believe It Or Not but we are having a hard time finding a good cover with the lyrics and she's afraid the original will be too silly. We're recessing to Mr Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra.
