So I want to WOW our guests by having a good bye snack to hand out to our guests as they leave the reception... I was thinking chocolate chip cookies and milk shooters or sweet potatoe ff... what do you think? any suggestions? thoughts? input?

Where is the wedding? Maybe a cup of hot chocolate or milk shake shooter and a cookie? I'm not sure if I would want to eat anything sweet potatoe that late at night...just a personal preference! lol

I think its a cute idea and was thinking of doing something like that as well. If you think they might be a little hungry and already have lots of sweets being offered some kind of gourmet popcorn might be great too.

Thats a really cute idea ! Maybe a little baggie with 2-3 oreos in it. or baggie of smartfood popcorn. but the hot coco idea is cute also could step up near exit door with to-go cups and marshmallows

This is a great idea. You should give a shout out to Andrene. She is doing a "huge" midnight snack.

I plan on having the Italian pastry table and candy buffet serve as the midnight snack.

We've seen everything from a sweet (cookies are popular) to a pizza or hotdog or burger buffet late night. Sweet potato dishes might be a regional thing. In Mediterranean cultures, especially Greek and Italian, it's customary to have a large sweet table (some with fruit, sweet cocktails, etc.) after dinner. If you serve your guests food near the end, it will be remembered regardless of what you serve. And if a guest doesn't like it, they don't have to eat it.

I think something slightly greasy like sweet potato french fries, regular french fries, onion rings, pizza, etc would be better after a night of drinking. I never eat sweets after beer.

We are doing pizza at the end of our reception. FH is a pizza nut. I'm pretty sure if given the opportunity he would eat pizza for every meal, everyday. Besides it is a good way to soak up all the alcohol before everyone goes home! Kimi that martini is really cute! Smiley smile

Everytime I hear about Future Mrs. Bansmer midnight pizza it makes me smile! I also think it's a great way to soak up alcohol. For what it's worth I'd take the sweet potato french fries over the milk and cookies. I guess it depends on if you are looking for sweet or savory at the end of the night.

Great idea to have a midnight snack, I know FH and his GM are ALWAYS hungry so they'd appreciate it.... but, while I love milk and cookies, I know that if I drank milk after drinking I'd end up being sick.. Dairy + Alcohol = Unhappy tummy for me.....

Wow Kimi u are a snack goddess! We wanted a sausage cart at the end of the night, but it didn't fit into our budget. We are doing snack sacks as favors with a Cape Cod theme - Cape Cod potato chips, cranberry juice cocktail, and either salt water taffy or sweddish fish. Love a snack after a night of dancing and drinking!

Love all the ideas, I recently read that greasy food is good for when you are tipsy, it makes it go away faster.
