I love children. I ADORE CHILDREN.

But if you have children that you do not discipline, DON'T BRING THEM AROUND ME!!

FH and I are having a relatively child free wedding (no children outside of the wedding party)

Its a night wedding. Its formal. Find a babysitter. Have a drink. Get a hotel room and practice making the next baby!!

Our wedding is not YOUR family reunion. Nor should I be responsible for stopping your child from knocking over the cake.

I went to a wedding and saw a child lift up the brides dress and try to play hide and seek under it during the first dance!!

BTW this is not directed toward WW Brides who have children. I'm sure your babies are well behaved. FH has a cousin who does not discipline her children and even if it is clear they are not invited, would show up and throw them on the mercy of other people while she gets drunk.

I am so excited that this thread has lasted through 12 pages, and still seems to be going strong. xD

We are actually working on wedding shiz tonight, but holy crap, I'll be taking peeks over here, whenever I think that FI isn't looking! Smiley winking

LoL my long lost twin sister @BalletShoesRachel. Talking about kids on WW is worse than talking about Cash Bar weddings. This thread may never die.

Well, let me put it this way...bridesMAID is not the same thing as the BRIDE even though they both have the same 5 letters...i know it's confusing but there you have it LOL

i also wanted to point out that i have a couple of people invited on my half of the guest list who are MORE THAN HAPPY to leave their kids at home. they have expressly stated that they are coming to celebrate us and if they can have a chance to get away for a while and have fun in the process...well then so be it!

@LadyCrystal, answering your question wayyyy back on page two, the one girl I've asked will be something like 5-6 on the day of the wedding. Another I'm thinking of asking will be close to the same age. The third is much younger, and will be 3 at the wedding... but she's flying in from the Middle East, and her parents are going to stand up instead of groomsmen, so I kind of have to make her one. I don't normally like flower girls so young, but she's unusually calm, so I doubt I'll have any problems from her... unless I want her to walk with the other girl(s) and there is a language barrier. :-s

Also, I am SO done with the whole "special indigo snowflake" BS that gets touted today. Almost all of the kids in this country, at least the ones who are not from the upper classes, are treated this way. It's revolting. Seven years old, still riding in a stroller, and making mom wipe your face and blow your nose? PLEASE. *barf*

My kids are NOT treated like snowflakes. They know when they've crossed the line- they cover their butts with their hands and RUN Smiley smile

L was in one wedding when i was about 5. i don't remember much except for crawling under the pew to sit with my grandparents once the ceremony had started, lol.

@ballet yeah i'm right with you on that one. DCS doesn't need to get called every time a child needs to be disciplined. some kids will always need a belt, switch, etc when they step out of line! i'm not saying throw your kids down the stairs but a stern word and an even harder smack on the bottom (or wherever your preference lies) can still do wonders!! LOL

I was six when I went to my first wedding. I think the worst thing I did was pick up two wine glasses and hold them up to my eyes like binoculars. (FYI they were my parents' glasses so I wasn't just putting my grubby 6yo hands all over random people's sh*t)

I was in my first wedding when I was three; my mother didn't understand it. I was extremely well-behaved, though; I got smacked whenever my mom imagined I did something wrong, so I knew how to behave like an adult at a white-tie event by that age. x-P

Anyway, I've just read through ALL TWELVE pages of this, and I am ROLLING. I'm over here giggling like a crazy homeless person, and I think FI is ignoring me for a reason.

Oh, and now *I'm* all jealous and want my fifth star, too. I can't find in my profile where it says number of posts, though. >.<
