What's your vote on parent dances? Keep or cancel?

Keep-ish. I'll be dancing with my father but his mom's not going to be at the reception.

Keep! My son is walking me down the aisle, so I’m still going to have the parent dances to really have that moment with my dad! (Second wedding, still totally doing it).

We're keeping it, but I would've been fine not doing them.

Keep for me. FH and FMIL haven't decided if they're dancing/what to. If they don't want to that's perfectly fine, but my dad passed away years ago so I feel it's important for my mom and I to dance.

Keep, we both are close with our parents and it wasn't even a discussion whether or not to keep the parent dances.

    Keep.

My father and I picked out a song for this very occasion when I was a kid. He made a point of watching "Dirty Dancing" with me as a kid, and, while I loved the movie, I didn't really understand why until I was in my late 20s. (The message of the film was something he really wanted me to understand.) We also used to blast the soundtrack in his car, whenever we were going some place, and sing (terribly out-of-tune) along.

So, we'll be doing a song from the soundtrack.

Keeping, but my future mother in law doesn’t want to dance with my FH, so it’ll just be me and my dad. they’re super religious and think that dancing is of the devil 🙄 lol

Cancel. My dad doesn't like dancing and I would be uncomfortable dancing with him...

Keep! There are ways to make it shorter; The DJ can play only part of the song, you can have the mother-son join the father-daughter dance (2 birds one stone), etc.

I have been dreaming of having my father/daughter dance since I was little. So we are definitely keeping that! But not sure if we're doing mother/son dance, as my fiance isn't a huge fan of dancing and I'm not sure if either of them actually want to do that. It will really be up to what they want.

For us it's a cancel because both our dads have medical issues that might make it embarrassing for them to be watched while dancing, but we do plan to grab those dances while everyone else is on the dance floor. One thing to consider if you don't want attention drawn to it but want it to be special is have the parent (or whomever) choose a song they would like to dance to with you. Our sons are picking one song each that no matter what, when that song comes on we dance. It could be fast or slow and doesn't have to be a big spectacle.

Change to family dances I wouldn't want to limit it, I want all of our family there.
