Keep or Cancel: Garter Toss?

I have to confess that I've never actually seen a garter toss in person! But apparently 37% of grooms still participate in this reception tradition! Will this toss tradition make the cut for your wedding? Do you want to keep or cancel this toss tradition? Photo from Red Gate Farms in Savannah, GA...

We are keeping it. More for the humor side of things. Our families have good sense of humors so they won't find anything creepy about it. But I do understand why some might.

I feel really uncomfortable having someone, even if it's my new husband, going up my dress in front of my friends and family.

    So...cancel!

    Keep.
This moment might be my last chance to live out my burlesque dancer dreams🤣.
I’m not sure if he wants to do it though 🤔

Cancel, I’ve never seen a garter toss that didn’t come off as weird and tacky

Cancel. We don’t really have any truly single people coming to the wedding anyway.

Have to talk to FH but probably cancel. The last wedding I went to, they did it and it was cute because our friends (the couple who wed) are adorable and did it so well. FH and I even both went up for our respective tosses, but neither of us caught.

And honestly, I think there will maybe be only a few single people (depending on how we sort out our guest list, might keep it to only family and wedding party), so it wouldn't even be fun to do it, just awkward. If there are a lot of couples (dating/engaged/married) in attendance, and kids too, it's just weird to me. Like if I had caught the bouquet, I wouldn't want to have anyone but my FH (boyfriend at the time of the wedding we went to) put the garter on me.

We will be keeping the garter toss tradition. Every wedding that I have ever attended had the groom toss the garter. My garter will be tossed at the beach. I can't wait.

Cancel - I don't feel comfortable with FH going up my dress in front of my family!

Cancel. I've been to a few weddings with the garter toss but I don't see the point in it. I don't want my FH up my dress in front of all of our family and friends and we don't have many single friends who would partake in the toss.

Probably keep it, but not going to have the guy who catches it put it on the one who catches the bouquet. I've seen to many near fist fights and overheard to many arguments after. He can just keep it if we do it

Cancel. Since we're not doing the bouquet toss, no need for a garter toss.

It’s up to FH and he is in the fence about it right now but, I’ve been to weddings where it was done. I’ve never heard of the person who catches the garter putting it on the person who catches the bouquet! That would be awkward. In my circle I’ve just seen the person who caught the garter wearing it on his head and being silly.

Keep. I think the tosses are fun! Also, FH is looking forward to this one.

Cancel. This is awful in my opinion.... I don't want something like that shared with my guests.. I feel like this is something you do after a few drinks, and I don't think this adds anything to the reception. Definitely not something that looks like fun in my opinion.
