Just got my wedding dress in the mail, but don’t want to try it on

Emily, on July 24, 2020 at 5:24 PM Posted in California Planning 0 4

Just need to whine a little about all this pandemic BS going on, feel free to move on if you don’t wanna hear it lol

I just got my custom-sized wedding dress from Azazie in the mail today, and before all this COVID-19 stuff going on I would’ve tried it on as soon as I pulled it out of the box... but now seeing as how our October wedding is most likely going to get postponed almost a year at least, I feel like trying it on now is just going to make me sad 😞 I know eventually I’ll be excited again (for next year) and I’ll get in the planning mood again, but I feel like doing any kind of prep work for the wedding just gets me depressed. Anyone else feel this way too? I know not doing any prep/planning now will definitely screw with me a little bit if by some miracle we’ll be able to hold our wedding as planned after all 😅 we’re holding out until 1st week of September at the latest to see if the county our venue is in will move into phase 4, but again seeing how CA is barely handling it now I highly doubt it’ll happen. UGH! 2020 brides... it’s just not fair Smiley sad

I'm so sorry Emily, but feel free to vent away!! This year has been absolutely insane, and definitely can put a huge damper on wedding planning excitement.

You're definitely not alone though!! ❤️ Here are a few discussions where you can check in with other couples and how they're feeling: Planning During Covid-19, Anyone Still Having their Wedding in California this Fall with a Guest Count of 40+?, and Upcoming California weddings?

Girl I 100% feel you. Ours was in November and we just pushed to April 2021.. I wouldn’t look at anything wedding related for fear the wedding wouldn’t happen or wouldn’t be like I envisioned. Changing the date was the best thing we did. Just remember that YOU’RE STILL GETTING MARRIED... it just might be later than expected 😘

I'm sorry you are feeling this way. My wedding dress has the opposite effect for me. Whenever I am feeling down about wedding planning I go put my wedding dress on and strut around our spare room. This always makes me feel excited about getting to marry mt best friend!

Thank you guys so much for your kind thoughts Smiley smile we did end up postponing to next year, and I honestly feel so much better about it. By then (hopefully!) we’ll be able to have it the way we’ve been dreaming, which we wouldn’t have been able to do this year, even if our venue did open up. All the anxiety about the uncertainty of having this year is all gone, and I know time will just fly by until we get to the serious planning again Smiley smile good luck to you both that your weddings go without a hitch as planned!! ❤️
