    Omg.

You think it would go *well* with the dress and the barn.

    WELL.

    NOT GOOD. WELL!

(and no- I do not agree with that statement- but it just needed to be fixed)

I have attended weddings wear grooms wore jeans, and I love that your dress is more casual to fit the style you are going for. That was the only issue I witnessed in those weddings - brides dresses were WAY too formal and clashed with the men's attire.

That said, I'd also like to point out that a decent Stetson from Cavenders is about $75, so the men aren't getting out as easily as some would assume. I agree the BM dresses could probably be found for more like $50-75 in a department store -- this would make the price point more even for everyone - if that is even an issue for your actual bridal party.

Cowboys. Beautiful men on horseback are my weakness.... -sigh- Probably women too. I've just never had the opportunity to witness this.

@Goskell: Actually, that's not true. If she's requiring them to have a special accessory like a cowboy hat, she should be paying for it, not the guys. Same as bridesmaids and specific hair, nails, makeup, shoes, etc.

@MNA - I was simply pointing out that those hats aren't cheap either, so if the BMs are paying for their dresses and the GMs are buying hats too, the price point would be more even if OP can find a more affordable dress.

I was not commenting at all on the etiquette behind OP choosing to pay for them or having her bridal party pay for it.

@Goskell: You're missing the point entirely. The GM wouldn't be paying for them. She would. So they wouldn't be out anything but jeans and a button down shirt.

    Way, way less than $250.

@MNA -- Sorry for the confusion -- I think you are missing my point entirely. *IF* the BMs have to buy dresses, then my suggestion is for OP to choose a cheaper dress , if (again*IF*) the guys are buying their hats too. This way it is more even for everyone.

I am only commenting regarding the imbalance of spending between GMs and BMS and recommending a solution to close the gap. Not commenting at all regarding who *should* be paying for what.

I missed any post that indicated OP was buying the men's hats, but not the ladies' dresses. Again - my apologies -- there are a LOT of unnecessary and hidden comments on this thread.

I think your dress, would look appropriate standing next to they way those guys are dressed in your OP picture. Khaki's, to me, seem more "beach", than "barn"... jmo, though. I think it could come together really nicely. And while I LOVE the picture of those BM dresses, $250 is more than a little excessive for a low key barn, lace wedding dress, jeans kind of wedding. Honestly, I've seen some REALLY cute dresses at Kohls and they are everywhere!! I'd let my girls hit up the one nearest to them and start sending in pics, till there was a winner.

    Again, jmo, though...

There is nothing inspiring about that photo. The jeans don't fit, the shirts don't fit and the ties are all over the place; too short, too long, tucked in.....ick.

I"m with CP; a tux or a well fitted suit can airbrush any man.

@Goskell, so the solution is to make the guys pay more? I'm sorry, but the answer is not to make everyone pay more. The cost of weddings for wedding party members has become insane. I get that the wedding industry benefits, but surely not those that are nearest and dearest to the wedding couple.

@Lakyn, I get it... cowboys are my weakness too. I didn't critique the picture as far as ill fitting pants, shirts, tie length. All I saw was the jeans and stance and that was enough for me!! LOL

@Centerpiece, I agree a man in a WELL fitted suit can be hot AF! But... I think I'm more of a cowboy girl then a 50 shades girl... lol

@Jacks - I did not see anywhere in this thread that OP said the guys were NOT buying the hats themselves. Already apologized if I missed that.

I am not at all suggesting that she make someone pay for something they had not already planned to pay for.

@Swin: No joke! FH would rather dress WAY more formally than necessary, but I can't wait to see him in his tux! I've never read/seen 50 Shades, and I'm NOT a fan of the cowboy look. I'd much rather just have FH dressed nicely. Yum.

I love the look! It'll be comfortable!

I'm also in Texas and thought about that look myself. I've never really been one for a suit and tie!
